Hi everyone Im just feeling a bit low today. I recently received the eye test letter stating that eye had some background retinopathy. I went to the optician and had it cleared up it was a bleed -not good but felt bit better. Now the doctors have phoned me after my review and asked me to get...

    Background Retinopathy

I can see why you are shocked and scared! I hope you are ok. I went for the eye test after reading some stuff on here. I'm so glad I did - the man was lovely they took pictures of my eyes (with no drops lol) and showed me the bleed in question which the diabetes eye screening must have seen. I...

    Background Retinopathy

After getting the letter I went for an eye test today. Lovely chap showed me a picture they took and my right eye had a small bleed he said it will probably heal over month or so. I feel a lot better now and will continue to try and get lower blood sugars. Interestingly he asked if my blood...

I intermittently feel that way too, I live a fairly virtuous lifestyle, drinking only a little red wine poss g and t. I liked exercise anyway but since diabetes I am now extra motivated! However, some days I feel quite resentful of it - when friends run for longer in training just coz they feel...

    Background Retinopathy

It's reassuring to know you can turn it back. I'm just gutted it happened when I thought I was doing ok - oh well. I sort of knew it would come back wierd result- I had extremely bad hay fever the day of the screening - not a good year for me

Be honest, how -are- you doing?

I was wondering where you get the echo gadget from? I am ok if have my routine - one novo pen in one place - the other in another. But if I'm out or on holiday I get really thrown. I had a near panic attack in a toilet because I was convinced I had injected 7 units of novo rapid instead of back...

    Freestyle libre sensor fell off!

I do feel I am being a little defeatist with the libre - it has helped me an was useful (once I learned more about how it works). There are things about it I don't like. . But that's a personal thing. I find the arrows and messages annoying sometimes. However I just really lost my temper with it...

    Freestyle libre sensor fell off!

Thank you for your help everyone. I will ask at a pharmacy. I'm not asking for the libre on prescription -which may sound crazy I know but it doesn't suit me for my everyday needs and I do not want to go down the road of it replacing test strips. Last year abbot were really happy to help as they...

    Freestyle libre sensor fell off!

Has anyone else had a sensor come away about 1 week into using it. I used freestyle libre last year for some running events and it never fell off - in fact I had to try and rench it off. I have started events again but the last few sensors I have purchased haven't lasted more than a week! Now...

    Sweating

I'm a sweaty person in the gym [emoji23] I always have been it's a sign I'm working hard. I don't see it as a problem really I know loads of other people who are sweaty and not diabetic. I don't look at other people - they may not be working as hard as you anyway. Is your exercise quite intense...

    Weight loss and insulin

Losing weight slowly is not necessarily a bad thing! A gradual path to your ideal weight means you probably have a regime that you can maintain. I have been using insulin and type 1 for about 15 months - I gained about a stone in 2 weeks it was hideous. I plateud with weight loss for a while but...
