    Stupid question Optium test strips

Does anyone know whether they NEED to be in the foil until used? I've cut my fingers up scrabbling for one in the night. I'm a wimp and used to 50 in a container.

Any one else have a GP like this?

Just an update to say the DSN was amazing and gave my GP a talking to. Unfortunately the hypos are linked to the cancer I have just found out I have. I now have hypokits and so many glucogel. I've paid for a CGM for the next month. Thank you all for commenting and I really hope your journeys go...

First day with Freestyle Libre NHS question.

I cannot in any way afford this lifestyle but after some scary lows and a further diagnosis I did as the DSN suggested and got the starter pack. I am so surprised at how painless it was. I know I've got to give it 24hrs to settle in (well I hope that's the case as at the minute it is wildly...

Any one else have a GP like this?

I'm hoping to get further with my ask for a pump. Maybe that will help. I've been told by GP to self fund a cgm because my hypo awareness is apparently "awful". I AM really trying but I'm also sick and trying to work 14hr shifts so I may have messed up.

Any one else have a GP like this?

Hey there, I took it in the morning as per new instructions (about 2 months ago) I am taking Lantus. I'm seeing my DSN tomorrow as my GP referred me urgently last week as apparently "I'm no longer looking after my diabetes". It might be stupid but I really think it was the heat, it is the only...

Any one else have a GP like this?

I had taken 10u for dinner 4 hours previously, as per ratio this was correct. 100g was in lucozade, bananas, and the jordans frusil bars. I was not allowed a hypokit after the cut down on medications recently. I was told by my GP that there is no need as I can look after myself.

Any one else have a GP like this?

Last night for no apparent reason I started dropping got to the stage of eating 100g of carbs and still dropping. 1.9 called 999 as live alone and couldn't really move (too busy so would be an hour) so called a friend and after 3 hours was sorted. Rang my GP today to say despite them not...

Has anyone T1 experienced insulin resistance

I've been prescribed a drug for sleeping and have started to have insulin resistance. I've spoken to my nurse and it's common but I've got to decide what to do. Has anyone had this experience?

Carb ratio and insulin needs sharp incline

There's usually a label over the main part of the pen. The problem is (as my nurse said) is some can not have a sticker and still be imported they are usually more stiff and jam more.

Carb ratio and insulin needs sharp incline

I've tried all the big chains as she suggested and every time there is at least one prescription that is imported.

Carb ratio and insulin needs sharp incline

I wrote about this previously. I'm sorry I don't know how to link to my previous posts. It is subject to yellow card and she is speaking to Sanofi. But until something has been done I've had to check my insulin isn't imported with not much luck

Carb ratio and insulin needs sharp incline

Hi, For about a month I have been doubling my exercise (extra sessions at the gym thanks to work) yet my C:I ratios have gone up from 1:10 to 1:5. I've got an appointment with my nurse next week who is not especially worried and she mentioned that novorapid is not working in a lot of people...

    Insulin imports

Saw the nurse today who took my lantus and novorapid off me and prescribed me fresh from the hospital dispensary. Apparently independent pharmacies have been importing these and for some reason they have come with a myriad of problems including stiff pens, stinging more than normal, less...

Does anyone know if Aciclovir raises BS

I've unfortunately got a spot of shingles and wondered if anyone knew as the BNF doesn't mention it but lots of other sources do. Sent from my iPhone using DCUK Forum mobile app

I shall await that appointment then. Thank you

    Brand new, retinopathy

At the time I had no idea I was diabetic. They said it could be related to lots of things and that I shouldn't worry. When I mentioned it to the doctor he said it was likely retinopathy and would likely be controlled. I was just looking for an opinion not a definitive.
