"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

I'll be fine, I promise, and I'll report back of course! I don't think our forum ethos allows me to share his address for privacy reasons. Although it would be an interesting situation to have a Russian woman contact Dutch police on someone because of a forum in the UK!

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Thanks for your good wishes, I'm really starting to get nervous now, so I'll be happy when it'll be tomorrow 11 am and the interview will be over! I made a large tub of delicious and very garlicky zaziki yesterday to go with shawarma, onion and mushrooms. :hungry: (Greek yoghurt, cucumber...

    Type1 - returning to swimming?

No the Toujeo doesn't count as IOB, although if you decide to really do serious exercise dayly you may find your basal Toujeo needs to be adjusted. I'm very curious to what your experiences will be in the future, changing some variables like food and IOB, so please post about your findings!

    Libre 2 issues

Curious is good, staying curious is the best way to learn about our condition and how to best manage it in my opinion! If you have any questions or experiences to share with your Dexcom, please post. :)

    Libre 2 issues

If you only had your G7 for a week, I'd take your time getting aqcuainted with it and it's perks before even thinking about calibrating. Any particular reason you asked about using it with DiaBox?

    Libre 2 issues

DiaBox can only be used with Libre as far as I know. I know there are alternative apps for other sensors as well but I'm not familiar with them at all because I've only used Libre. Google tells me the G7 can be calibrated, does this not work well for you...

    Type1 - returning to swimming?

You have some amazing staff at your pool! This sounds like a very safe place to do some experimenting and learn how to deal with swimming again. :) IOB in the pool is something I haven't gotten the hang of myself yet, it makes me drop so fast. Instead I prefer to go in fasting, or on some no...

    Libre 2 issues

I hope you contacted Abbott for every failing sensor, they usually replace without issue. In the case of a sensor failure halfway through a sensor it even means you get some extra days because they'll send you 14 days worth of new sensor even if the old one failed at 13 days. Using alternative...

    Type1 - returning to swimming?

Winner emoji for getting back and giving it a go! The fitness will come back, don't worry, and with some more practice you'll learn how to manage your bg as well. Did you have any active insulin on board (last injection <4 hours ago)? This tends to make a big difference for me in how fast I...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

We've just had a first phonecall, both slightly under the influence and very amusing. :joyful: A delightful mixture of genuine interest and mild teasing on points of view to see if we can coax the other into taking the bait. This date is looking more and more interesting! But first I'll have...

    HbA1C

A fructosamine test is usually used in situations where an hba1c test is unreliable. Certain conditions like aneamia can skew hba1c results. It is also sometimes used in pregnancy, because gestational diabetes develops over a shorter timespan than T2, the hba1c will be lower than should be...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

It is like me! I'm just an idiot reading a 150 page and very dry 20 year old thesis written in pretty good but definitely not first language good English in preparation of a first date, only because said date wrote it and I want to be prepared. And this is what I could find on him on the...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Date had a stomach flu so postponed until next wednesday. :grumpy: Very frustrating and allowing me too much time to make this a much bigger thing than it likely is, a perfect preparation for a disappointment.

How to increase calories without high dense carbs?

Bacon and eggs fried in butter instead of boiled eggs for breakfast? Cream, butter or cream cheese on your veggies? (Any reason why you are eating raw beans?) Pork scratchings, cheese for snacks or in addition to meals, things like that? Full fat Greek yoghurt?

    CGM readings

Thanks for the tag @EllieM . Yes, I use DiaBox to be able to calibrate, my Libres always read lower than a fingerprick. I always trust a fingerprick over sensor. I'm also much happier with the options for alarms on DiaBox as compared to the official Libre app. However, I'm on the Libre 2, not...

    Shift work and blood sugars

I don't work long shifts but I do have some experience with very irregular work hours. It may be helpful if you tell us a bit more on what part of the shift work gives you trouble with your blood glucose. I'm a bit puzzled, you posted this in the weightloss and dieting part of the forum, did...

Libre 2 is this highest range

The infection is likely what makes your BG rise even higher than usual, it's very common to need a lot more insulin when you're fighting an infection. There are two possible problems with high blood glucose (higher 10's or above). The first can hit in a very short time, weeks or even days...

Libre 2 is this highest range

The flat line just now is the top end of the range so you may be higher. Even most fingerprick meters don't measure over 32. It doesn't make much of a difference, those are numbers that need medical care. Can you call 111 like now for advice? Your numbers are dangerously high. Do you know what...

    Resistance carbs

It seems to make a difference for some, not for others. For myself, I need the same amount of insulin before and after refrigerating or freezing so no difference for me.
