Shift work and blood sugars

Hi looking for advice from anyone who works 12+ hour shifts and struggle to control their blood sugars.
I don't work long shifts but I do have some experience with very irregular work hours.

It may be helpful if you tell us a bit more on what part of the shift work gives you trouble with your blood glucose.

I'm a bit puzzled, you posted this in the weightloss and dieting part of the forum, did you mean to?

I'd be interested too, as I find when I do a split shift 7-1 then 4-10 I try and eat about 3 to get me through the evening as not eating if home at 10. But I find during the vening my sugar levels gradually rise. I use a pump and G7 reader. I can end up at 20! Then at 2am when asleep can plunge down to 3.2. I don't eat during evening and only drink water.

I've worked overnight shifts in the past for brief stints and it didn't effect blood sugars too much but I was younger in my late 20's at the time.

These shifts would be 3-11PM at the postal service and then I'd finish that job and go to another job from 12:00AM to 7:00AM. Back to back.

I only did that for a few months.

1. What is your work schedule and is it set or does it vary by day and time....?
2. Is it a stationary job or are you allowed to get up and move around occasionally....?

As a T1, I believe your employer should make adjustments for you if needed eg regular breaks to test or inject. I think its law,(but not sure which, someone else may know for sure)
