Thank you! I have a hospital appointment coming up soon and was going to look into getting the Dexcom G5 or FreeStyle Libre but I have heard they have delays on sugars and most people can’t get them funded on the NHS

Dexcom G5 and free style Libre

Hey guys, Considering looking into the Dexcom G5 or the free style Libre. Can anyone give me an idea of UK prices please, what it would cost to start with and how much would need to be spent from then on (I.e sensors each month)

    Bad hypos

Hiya Just wondered really if anyone else gets really nervous and scared to go low. When I hit below 4 whether it’s 3.2 or 3.9 I feel very weak and shaky and it scares me quite a lot, and when I hit something like 2.9 that’s a whole other level of scared. This is the main reason why I tend to...

    Insulin correction

Hey guys, Are you meant to only insulin correct when your eating? I had a Chinese tonight and my sugars raised quite a bit after, so I injected a little before bed with no food and I’ve hit a low at 6 this morning?

    Hypos

Hey Just wondered if some of you guys feel really bad even though your numbers are fine? This week I have been anything from 4-8 and I just feel drained and weak and sometimes dizzy. I understand my sugars have been on the high side so I don’t think I’m used to being this good but I thought...

No I need to look into that. I take 18 of my long acting at night and that’s it. I don’t know if I should be taking it at different times or maybe less

    Using wrong insulin?

Hey I have been on novarapid as my fast acting insulin for the last 6 years, and over the last year it seems like even if I have no acting insulin in me or doing any exercise my sugars can go from 7 to 4 quite quickly. Could this possibly be the insulin??

    Free style Libre

Does it have a delay like the Libre though? Because I would love to be notified when high or low but I don’t like the sound of the delay

    Free style Libre

I have this one as well, I’ve just always been on the hunt for something that could possibly give me notice if my sugars are low or high or something that doesn’t need strips to work

    pill

The pill hasn't affected mine as far as I know. I have been diabetic for 6 years and have been on the pill longer than that. I know that hormones will affect your sugars but I'm not 100% sure if the pill will reduce that from happening..but I do know I have never been affected by my pill. Maybe...

    Low Sugars

Hi Guys, When my sugars are on 4.8 or 4.5 I feel like I'm having a mild hypo, is this normal? and is it ok to be on 4.5 or 4.8 or should I be higher? Also I can never really seem to stay on 6 or 7 for very long, I feel like I should be able to stay between 6-7 without having to eat but they...

    Snacks

I wouldn’t mind injecting for snacks if it’s low, but my doctor told me I can have anything from 10g and below without injecting and it seems to still spike

    Free style Libre

Thank you that’s great to know!! Is there any other testing kit you recommend? I am currently on the accu-chek aviva

    Snacks

Hiya does anyone know of any tasty snacks a diabetic type 1 can have? I have yet to find a tasty snack that doesn’t spike my sugar levels after and hour or 2 of eating them (e.g biscuits, crisps etc)

    Free style Libre

When do you need to use the finger prick then? I assumed you could use the Libre all day everyday?
