Hi Guys,

When my sugars are on 4.8 or 4.5 I feel like I'm having a mild hypo, is this normal? and is it ok to be on 4.5 or 4.8 or should I be higher? Also I can never really seem to stay on 6 or 7 for very long, I feel like I should be able to stay between 6-7 without having to eat but they tend to drop quite quickly?

Any advice?

Hi @emily deacon The sensation you feel is called a false hypo, but it's good to have this awareness as it's demonstrating your have good hypo awareness. Ideally I like to be above 5 as I drive and this is the limit, but I function fine on anything higher than 4.4. If you have a tendency to drop quickly then it's best to have a small carby snack to bring your levels back up, but of course if you do drop below 3.8 then fast acting glucose instead.
