What I’ve learned from my libre...

Thanks for the reply @ianf0ster its much appreciated. tbh I’m so confused about next steps. I was doing protein breakfasts to flatten the dp and it was working just like you said. Then I had a 4 week weight plateau and was reading Jason fung’s diabetes code which seemed to be saying just let...

What I’ve learned from my libre...

Firstly, I’m doing way better than I thought I was! My finger pricks were picking up dp, and the top of the curve fluctuations, the rest of the time I’m 5-6, with an average of 5.4. The blips for coffee finally convinced me to switch to almond milk - it was my last bastion of carbs so now into...

    Energy levels, libre2, thyroid

I decided to get a libre2 after 1. Not losing any more weight. 2. No energy in the evenings to do any work or after 3 hours activity/ exercise. To cover my bases I got a private thyroid test too with family history. I was really pleasantly surprised with my readings. Between 5-6 mostly apart...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

So this week lost one pound after 4 weeks of net zero! Fingers crossed it’s a resuming of weight loss. And nope didn’t do anything differently as I bought a libre to see if my sugars were the reason I wasn’t losing and kept the faith in the process. Just kept to the same lchf diet, more...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

I get massive liver dumps when I skip a meal @coby. There are so many times I just haven’t wanted to eat as well I know it’d be so easy for me. Do you think I should just ignore the liver dump and push on for weight loss? I go up from 5 to 9/10 and get nauseous but could power through! Gah just...

    Thyroid

Thank you for the reply, I’m totally overthinking everything I know. What an odd result for yourself! Maybe you’ve become less insulin resistant which has impacted mysteriously on thyroxine levels? I honestly can’t believe how little is really known.

    Thyroid

Hi, With no family history of diabetes and a strong family history of hypothyroidism I wasn’t convinced by GP who said no need for testing (hit a wall after 3 hours activity and very very tired after). So I used letsgettested. Results are high for antibodies (TPEX and TGAB), TSH high which is...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

2 pound gain this week boooo! But I have started period today so fingers crossed just water retention. If not, my plan b is high intensity resistance training. Bit scary so I’m keeping it for when I start to plateau! Hope it’s not a plateau caus I have another 2 stone to go...

    Fed up

Conniecar it sounds like you’re juggling a massive amount. You absolutely need the support of your school. I also work in a school and know how hectic it is. There are things they can do and reasonable adjustments that can be made. If you feel like you can’t speak to a senior member of staff...

Morning Blood levels and when to eat.

Everyone is different (meter is your friend), but if I had those goals and was seeing dp I’d eat when I get up - assuming with your shifts that’s the same time? For me, it stops the rise, and it would just go up and up till lunch otherwise. I think it depends on how good your primary and...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

2 pounds lost this week so my first full stone lost and 13 stone 7pounds now, woop woop! It feels like the hardest won 2 pounds ever with odd liver behaviour, blood sugar lows and highs this week. Fingers crossed for a less dramatic one pound and no swinging bloods sugar this week!

    T2 unmedicated hypo?

Thanks Andydragon. Hopefully it was a one off - it just freaked me out a bit as I wasn’t expecting it. If it happens again I will speak to someone!

    T2 unmedicated hypo?

Oooo maybe! Although up in the north east of England it isn’t as much as a heat wave as everywhere else!
