    Metformin and side effects

My scan is due this Friday so at least I will know whether it is gallstones or Metformin that is making me feel this way. I will keep you all posted. I have been told to only take x1 500mg tablet daily which I take at breakfast time.

    Metformin and side effects

I am due to have an ultrasound scan and endoscopy soon. The scan is to check for possible gallstones and the endoscopy is for my gastric reflux which I have suffered from for may years. I am not sure whether this is coincidental or not but if I put my finger on it, I have noticed that since I...

started taking Metformin - not feeling too great

I've been started on Metformin (x1 500mg daily) and been taking it for about 3 - 4 weeks. Firstly, I noticed that my appetite has been greatly reduced (I can cope with this as I need to lose weight) but I've noticed that I generally feel 'unwell' can't really put my finger on it but I feel very...

    Taking Metformin for first time

Hello all, my Nurse has put me on Metformin (x1 500mg tablet a day) and i was just wondering if there is anything i need to know about it and how others have got on with Metformin. I tried to resist taking it but unfortunately my HBAIC has gone up to 7.5 from 7.2 so the Nurse wants to see me...

    dizziness and unsteadiness

i don't think it's to do with eating but i haven't tested my BS levels today yet as i left my monitor and sticks at home. I did go and see the opticians a couple of months ago about this as i was worried it was my eyesight or anything underlying which was serious like a tumour but she said...

    dizziness and unsteadiness

Not sure if this is diabetes related or not but i have been feeling quite dizzy and unsteady lately. how long before going on medication?

My partner's mother was classed as pre-diabetic and by losing 3 stones in weight it put her back into the non-diabetic category but i think she 'nipped it in the bud' just in time. I feel quite annoyed that i wasn't given that chance to 'nip it in the bud' as i was never tested for BG levels...
