@Contralto Many thanks for this :)

    Wearing socks inside out

@mahola, A friend's husband will often wear odd socks, ie one orange, the other red or green etc. This is deliberate, or so he says - but he has some dementia so who knows ;) It makes him happy when anyone comments, though, so no real problem, eh? Personally, I don't like my socks being odd...

    Fussy Eater and Type 2!

@JohnEGreen Just thought you might like to know how this post of yours has helped me decide what to have for tea :) I'm trying it with some homemade Chilli, portion from freezer, instead of Bolognaise sauce (also some portions in freezer) :) Many thanks for the idea :)

    blood test

Hi @ally1 I agree with @AndBreathe particularly regarding considering other health problems in the mix. I feel it is imperative to be feeling well mentally in order to tackle the other issues, especially where diet is concerned. I'm really pleased for you that some new medication is having...

    Low Carb Breads

Hi @Squeekyboy Would you just clarify, please? Are you saying you can or can't eat eggs??? I think I'm just being a bit 'dense' this evening ;)

    Morning Glucose Readings

@Johnjoe13 It sounds like you're doing well but, yes, there is a lot to learn, made so confusing after the (potentially) bad advice from the professionals. Take each day at a time, read and learn as/when you can and you'll become an 'expert' in your own right in time :)

    Morning Glucose Readings

@Johnjoe13 This happens to me, every morning, no matter what time I get up This is a graph (using Libre sensor) of a typical recent day, showing how it rises further as soon as I get up and/or start getting active Perhaps that will help explain :) I'm looking towards the days when it stops...

It's also worth noting that the drinks from the multidispensers can easily be 'contaminated' from other drinks that are poured though the last bit of the tubing. Also, unless you see the bottle, the drink from multidispensers could well be anything, including being fixed to the wrong cylinder...

    Fruit? No problem I think.

@MikeTurin, I'd be interested to see if you had an increase/spike a bit later, after the 2 hr test. I, personally, find this so hard to believe - probably because I'm just jealous ;) Congratulations, but I'd really love to hear what you test at 3hrs too ;)

    Confused, concerned and disappointed

@Toffer, Hi No, I don't think this aspect of applying cream to feet has been mentioned. I can appreciate what you are saying and, yes, it is important to be aware of any issues with your feet. However, I am under the impression that the use of a moisturizer to feet, for diabetics, is actually...

    GlucoRx Nexus Glucose meter

Sounds great Hope you don't find the test strips too expensive. If you do, consider the SDCodeFree as the test strips are the cheapest available and the testing is reasonably reliable, as far as I know. If you do decide to go for CodeFree, contact the manufacturers, tell them you are...

Yes, but they can survive a spell in the dish washer or washing machine so has to be an advantage if dropped down the pan ;)

Daily Testing of Blood Glucose Levels

Hi @The Grey Panther May I suggest (on the assumption you drive / ride a car/motor/bicycle etc) that you test every time before you drive - if only so that you can prove to any insurance company that your levels were above 5 in the event of an accident. If you can't prove this, then whoever's...

Metformin slow release and meal replacement diet

It seems to me that the 'diabetic professionals' see Type 2 as a 'progressive' disease and, I feel, this would be backed up by my own situation in that, for a long time I really struggled to do any sort of diet, either to get/keep my glucose levels lower or to lose, very necessary, weight. So...

    GlucoRx Nexus Glucose meter

Hi @Kenny 3 To be honest, I feel it's up to the individual buyer to shop around to find the item at the best price. At least, on the internet, you don't literally have to walk around all the different shops to do this. I go to Google, type in the item I'm thinking of buying and then look at...

Low carbing in UK is a nightmare

Hi @WithoutSugar Having sauces with certain meat dishes is traditional and cultural in Britain. Historically, there will be a good reason for this and this link - http://www.theoldfoodie.com/2009/10/why-apple-with-pork.html explains why we eat apple sauce, traditionally, with pork. Other...
