Hello not sure if I should be here???

My GP also never told me I was diabetic. I think some of them struggle to tell you tbh but I like the hard truth and then deal with it. You'll lose a lot of weight through low carbing. I lost 3 stone by following the advice of successful low carbers on this forum. Good luck with everything x

    Little and often

What I should have said is that instead of having one large meal that gives a large spike you eat little and often and have a series of elevated blood sugar levels that hopefully are within acceptable ranges. Only testing with your meter can confirm this though.

    Shirataki noodles or miracle noodles

I've tried them. I found them to be awful, rubbery and expensive - I now have alternative substitutes [emoji3]

    Little and often

Eating the right foods little n often can only lower your blood sugar levels. I can't do that but I would if I had a desk job.

    Holiday carbs?

I think low carbing is a lifestyle choice. However, enjoy yourself - just cut out processed foods and potatoes, pasta, rice. I would guess that you are probably eating more carbs than you think from your post. What have you eaten today and what would you say was the carb content?

    LCHF

I make a hefty meat based salad the night before with cherry tomatoes and nice salad drizzles. If really pushed for time you can buy prepared meat for £2 and a bag of salad for 50p. Then add in what you want. Takes 2-3 minutes. I've lost 3 stone doing this. When I have no time I buy this...

I'm a big egg lover but currently experimenting by wrapping a teaspoon of soft cheese in a small wrap of ham. It's delicious!

    Peas

Many low carbers avoid foods with >10g carbs per 100 OR have a reduced portion. Also, it would very much depend on the rest of the meal.

    Type 2

It's of huge personal importance to me! I have a theory that the longer that type 2 has not been managed then the bigger the damage to the beta cells in the pancreas. This would explain why some need to be very low carb and others seem to get by with less effort. Just a hypothesis at the...

    Type 2

How long would you estimate you were type 2 before being diagnosed. I think for myself around 5 years. I'm asking this question as I think a late diagnosis could perhaps make it harder to get your blood sugar levels lower.

Where is the forum thread for the cure?

I'm in remission and hope to be near-term 'cured.'
