    Testing

I'm afraid as the medication your on doesn't cause hypo's you will more than likely get denied a kit and strips, my MIL's prescription for strips was ended due to cost cutting I'd be very wary of muesli, fruit juice and a nectarine, especially all at once as these are very carb high, also cereal...

    Testing

Do you have a meter and strips? if you haven't been prescribed these then self funding can become quite expensive, the cheapest we know of to self fund is the sd codefree, there is no right or wrong answer to good or bad foods however you may want to look at your carbohydrate intake as it's the...

    Spare Meters?

Just thought I'd update you lovely lot, I emailed Accu Chek last week who have replied today saying they would be quite happy to supply me with an Aviva meter as a spare, I can cope with that and using the neo for ketones so just waiting for accu chek to get back to me :) xx

    Monitor Arrived - First Test

I would be rather concerned by that reading and possibly just call nhs 24 at least for a little advice, make sure your drinking plenty of water to try and flush things out x

    I Need Help

Hi there and welcome to the forum :), sorry to see you have been having such a rough time :( You say you don't understand your regime, what do you mean exactly? you obviously know what each insulin is for but do you have a meal ratio? do you have an established correction factor? The...

    Newly Diagnosed Type 1

Hi there :) Weight gain can be a side effect of starting insulin but not in everyone so nobody can give you a clear yes or no answer, it also depends how much you eat and how much exercise you do xx

    Spare Meters?

Thanks, tell you what I'll see what the nurse says a week on Monday and if its a point blank no chance I'll take some, that sound ok to you? xx

    Spare Meters?

Yes I did get to keep the meter too, I know the neo strips work in the Libre as well, that's why my DSN said I should order them when on the trial, to check accuracy of a scan etc, that's a lovely offer, thank you, I really appreciate it but I will just wait and see what the nurse says first as...

    Worried About High Levels

Yes, Glic can cause hypos so the DVLA should have been informed straight away, you have to be 5.0 or above before setting off driving and there are rules to follow - testing every so often on long journeys etc, its important for him not to drive if he cant test as that could be a VERY dangerous...

    Spare Meters?

Yes I am aware of this, that's why my original post states that I wouldn't be ordering them all the time, if unused I'd only put an order in when they were nearing the expiry, as I do with the ketone strips as they never seem to be well dated, I didn't get to pick or choose meters so this...

    Spare Meters?

When I had my Libre trial though my DSN said that they should still be available to me I've got a nurse appointment on the 18th for an injection so I'll ask her and see what her thoughts are, she cant prescribe them but she may suggest a phone appointment with a Dr or something, who knows lol xx
