    Erythritol

Calling on the brain trust again! (I don't know how I managed before I stumbled across this web site) I have just used erythritol for the first time to make truffles. Unfortunately I can feel the granuler texture throughout the truffles. As this is a no bake recipe, is there a way of dissolving...

    Crack slaw !?!?

That looks very appetising Terry. I made a Mexican version last night and it too was delicious. This is my new go to recipe. I already have plans for the chicken and pork versions. Many thanks for starting this thread.

    Fallen off the wagon.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind words of wisdom. I certainly had a good old dose of catastrophic thinking (Brunneria), just didn't realise that's what it was! At least I know I am in good company and appreciate your honesty, ali, tabby, posh & pink. I did enjoy the movie, snapsy (Hacksaw...

    Fallen off the wagon.

It started innocently enough with a trip to the movies. Then I couldn't say no to the choc top ice cream and the malteesers. Promised myself tomorrow would be a new day. However after I went to bed my mind started thinking of the large box of chocolates I had bought for a Christmas present. It...

Such a thing as low carb bread or snack bars?

I use Helgas 5 seed bread. It has 9 carbs per slice. It is very nice and filling, though I do try to limit myself to 2 slices per day. I have tried a few recipes for snacks/ treats, with varying success. At the moment my go to recipe is the low carb spice Xmas cake, which I bake in loaf tins...

    Help re Christmas please :)

I have made this cake twice now and it is so easy and tastes great. I found it on ditchthecarbs.com I doubled the recipe the second time and made 2 bar loaves. I slice it then freeze and have it as afternoon tea. No reason why everyday can't be Christmas!

    Weight loss.

Congratulations that is brilliant. Was it by following a LCHF eating plan? How long did it take to drop the weight? I love reading of success and you show it is possible at any age. Well done!

Support thread for those of us who dont lose weight

Wow what a great thread. By bringing people together with the same issues, it shows that we all can't be hopeless! Regardless of the baggage we have, I have come to the conclusion that weight loss has nothing to do with willpower. When I hear the advice " just put the fork down" I want to use...

Anyone use Orlistat with LCHF ?

I don't really think I have lost much weight, just haven't put as much on as I might have done. They have enabled me to stay stable around 80kg about 8 kg more than I am comfortable at (170cm). I am really enjoying the LCHF as it has kept my hunger at bay and I seem to be losing my sweet tooth...

Anyone use Orlistat with LCHF ?

Yes Tabbyjoolz I have heard of those side effects, though I haven't had many of those problems with Xenical, but my diet didn't contain much fat, mainly carbs, when I was taking it. I have used it for about 4 years now, but not regularly, only after a meal such as a Chinese takeaway or an ice...

    Sugar!!

I keep a sugar free jelly made up in the fridge. There are so many different flavours so I don't get bored. I have it most nights with double cream for supper. Fills me up and fixes my sugar craving.

Anyone use Orlistat with LCHF ?

I have used Xenical after a high fat meal, prior to starting low carb. Just wondered if anyone uses it to assist with weight loss. The drugs name changes depending on the country, Australia is Xenical. Have added the info from Wikipedia. Orlistat is a drug designed to treat obesity. It is...

    Chocolate truffles

Thanks Daisy and Brunneria. I am in Australia and Lidl isn't here yet. It doesn't look like we have erythritol either. We have it mixed with stevia but terrible after taste. I have just ordered erythritol from iherb, so will let you know when it arrives.

Is this baking disaster beyond saving?

OMG genius. Tomorrow I will be having low carb Eton Mess (thanks Azure) and a very big Cheesecake (thanks Brunneria) Thank you Peter, I would post them to you, but would hate to cause a back injury to your postman.

Is this baking disaster beyond saving?

If anyone can save my disaster it will be this forums participants! Today I tried another recipe for chocolate cookies, the reviews said they tasted like brownies. Well I don't know what went wrong with mine but they are unedible. So I am looking for a recipe that requires 24 biscuits / cookies...

Love truffles, thanks for sharing. Daisy I am having problems finding a sweetener that doesn't leave an after taste. What did you use for the truffles?
