    My diagnosis was 9.4 % , pretty high too. I ate smoked salmon, eggs, avocados , various meats, I was back in a normal range within 90 days. I opted out seeing a nutritionist. I needed to eat foods I liked during that time. I probably wouldn’t have stuck with a special calorie restricted diet

    Fasting blood sugar this morning is 6.2

    My last a1c was 5.1, fasting was 7.2 lol . I’m sure the high morning reading is stress related, I’m pretty high strung. I quit testing the morning numbers... because I think it’s related to my coffee addiction, and I’m just not ready to give that up

    That’s the path, I went zero carb when first diagnosed. Blood sugar levels dropped off pretty quick. Stick with the plan, test your meals. Maybe experiment with intermittent fasting, My new eating patterns are habit, life is good.

    Doc gave me the 12 week challenge too. Low carb, high exercise, consistent sleep worked wonderfully. It’s been 8 months, the sweet tooth goes away with time

    Hotpot, beer and cake. I had never met a cake that was too sweet until tonight, truly death by chocolate. Hopefully no more birthday parties for a while

    That’s one reason I chose weight training, hopefully I can backfill with some muscle. Not worried about my mid section as I rarely go streaking these days, but I’d like to not have batwings or at least minimize them
