    Flying with a pump..

I've also flown with no problems. I think I took t off before going through security. Funnily enough the only time my bag has been searched was on the way back from jersey and I was on injections!

When Should You Feel a Hypo?

I usually start to feel hypo when mine drop below 5mmol. I think it varies from person to person and how sensitive you are. If you're starting to loose awareness then I would speak to your DSN. Also, always make sure you test before driving (if you drive) to make sure you're not starting to...

    After meal testing

Good idea. If I test two hours after I've normally gone up by 3mmol which is about right I guess. I just need to get my before meal testing level right and I should be good.. hopefully..

    Coffee

I'm about to do some testing with the coffee I drink. I don't believe one cup will make much difference but I have read that caffeine can effect bg even without milk and sugar. I plan to test at the same time for few days with coffee and then do the same for days without coffee and see if there...

    After meal testing

I'm a little confused. I test my bg and bolus about 20mins before my meal and then I like to test again two hours after my meal. Do people test two hours after they bolus or two hours after the last mouthful? x

    5:2 and Type 1 diabetes

I did it briefly a while back but I found it difficult to stick to the fasting days when I had hypos. If your control is good and you don't hypo often then you should be alright. If you're used to going basal testing and things then that makes it easier too. Just a case of trial and error I...

    Winter Hunger

Slow cookers are brilliant for times like these! I often work late so I bung everything in it in the morning and by the time I get home from work it's ready to plate up and eat. There's loads of different recipes you can use from stew and soups to a joint of meat. Perfect [emoji1303]

Not the greatest start to my holiday :(

Check for ketones, prime your pump so you can check its working properly and double your correction dose. This is what I do when I have a high. It sucks when it happens but don't beat yourself up about it. Highs every now and then are a part of a diabetics life. As long as your over all control...
