    Experiences on Lantus?

my basal needs can fluctuate depending on hormones, exercise etc and tresiba was decided to probably not be the best for the fluctuations. Levemir hasn’t been mentioned though. I did a fair bit of research tonight and have read a lot about severe hypo’s which has worried me slightly. As I am...

    honeymoon help

Hey, I am very newly out of my honeymoon. The honeymoon sucked and I had a lot of fluctuations.. some days I needed barely any fast acting other days I would need more, I was having 6 hypos a day at one point for about 3 months where I eventually had to just go down to taking basal insulin...

    Exercise and basal bolus problems

yeah I tested against metre, libre said I was actually in range, a finger prick let me know it was reading 1mmol higher, plus I was having symptoms. I’ve lowered my basal to 10 units tonight so we will see what happens overnight. no a day of recurring hypo’s makes me really weary of eating and...

    Exercise and basal bolus problems

I’m normally moderately throughout the week and find blood sugars to be quite steady and I had a good routine going. I usually do 2.5km -3.5km in steps a day. I did on average 10km a day on my trip. I have a libre 2 and it was struggling to keep up once the hypo started to hit.. and it was...

    Exercise and basal bolus problems

I treated with Fast acting 200ml Pepsi for the first one, the second hypo I treated with 200ml Pepsi followed by a 15g carb rice cracker then the third hypo I treated with 300ml Pepsi and a small piece of brown toast. Woke up 3 hours later going low again. I usually skip breakfast but I decided...

    Exercise and basal bolus problems

I agree, I find it depends on time of day aswell. Some mornings I can wake up high. Sometimes I have lie ins and wake up in target without adjusting any basal. I also find I’m more resistant to corrections in late afternoon/evening than I am in the morning too.

    Exercise and basal bolus problems

I was high on the first jab for about 2 weeks, then blood sugars have been fine on this second one up until the day I went on my trip. So I’m leaning more towards the exercise and heat being the reasoning behind the fluctuations. As that’s the only thing different aside from the jab.

    Exercise and basal bolus problems

So I’ve just come back from a trip, with crazy fluctuating blood sugars from 23mmol dropping to 3.8mmol in half an hour. So I reduced basal while on my trip because I was doing a lot more exercise, probably triple of what I would do in a day with long walks in the sun sightseeing. Including...

    Freestyle libre 2 hypo errors?

Anyone else experiencing a bit of issues when it comes to hypos with the libre 2? I get false alarms sometimes where it will alarm, I’ll scan and it’ll say my sugar is 4.4 when my alarm barrier is set to 4.2. then once I’ve treated a hypo the sensor will instantly lose signal for half hour or...

COVID vaccine and extremely high blood sugars

Post 2nd dose, blood sugars have been okay, couple of corrections needed but nothing too crazy. Side effects exact same as the first and I am feeling very fatigued, sickly.. but another strange side effect, my period that was due to end today has started again with vengeance! Called for advice...

    Night rider BluCon Or MiaoMiao

I’m looking for something a bit extra for my libre so I’m not scanning all the time, I’ve seen the MiaoMiao and also the night rider BluCon send real-time data without needing to scan, does anyone have either of these? What are the pro’s and cons?

    Low carb insulin confusion

I have communicated with the DSN about it and she said she would have expected my basal to be reduced and told me to knock a couple of units off, then I was suffering highs through the night and my basal testing indicated I needed those units, I’ve been gradually reducing basal since then and...

    Low carb insulin confusion

I’ve gone back to a low carb diet after a couple of weeks of binging on higher carb foods. I’m taking less fast acting than I usually would be as my carb intake isn’t as high, but my basal has stayed the same to the point I’m only taking 2 units more a day in total novarapid than my 11 units...

    Hot weather hypos?

so strange! I found I was taking more insulin in the winter and have been slowly lowering since March when it started to warm up a little slightly. Will be keeping a closer eye, I wouldn’t have thought anything of it until my legs went like jelly and I started to get lightheaded which is...
