    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

Latest 4 week weigh in. 4.5kg down - taking my total to 42.2kg lost. I can see a slight slowing down of the rate of loss. From over 5.5kg a month to now 4.5kg a month. Still it’s going pretty well - and to be honest I ate pretty badly over the last week due to stress. (If you’ve read my posts...

Insulin for Type 2 - is it a slippery slope?

Thank you. It’s really quite scary to be so far away and not be physically present to discuss issues directly with the doctor. Aged 36 it’s amazing but I am as scared as any child with what’s going on. That being said, they were discharged today. And they have to start doing the insulin shots...

Insulin for Type 2 - is it a slippery slope?

Thank you for taking the time to reply. It’s super helpful because there’s so much I don’t know about diabetes and medication.

Insulin for Type 2 - is it a slippery slope?

Hi guys. I have a question that’s not about myself. Both my parents (who are currently overseas, outside the UK) have contracted COVID and it’s been serious enough that they were admitted to hospital. It’s been an incredibly stressful time but they seem to have got a handle on their oxygen...

Hair Loss - did you have it?

I didn’t actually review them myself. To be honest it didn’t even occur to me! I did ask if anything - including Thyroid - was “close to the edge” and the doc said no. So still pretty confused *sigh*

Hair Loss - did you have it?

Hi all, in a previous post I mentioned that I’ve been experiencing some hair loss as I’ve got into my keto diet. I’ve lost a fair bit of weight and I put it down to that but I had bloods done to check for deficiencies. Most of the numbers came up pretty normal - except for Vitamin D and Zinc...

    HbA1c results are in...

Awwww thanks everyone. So nice to have people to share the news with. I tried telling friends and family but I always have to explain the numbers and ranges to them first ... and it sort of loses its impact haha. I think the big thing to remember is that this is a lifestyle change. I’m still...

    HbA1c results are in...

Hiiiii guys. Some context to what I'm about to share. I was diagnosed Pre-Diabetic with two HbA1c tests of 48 and 43 in Feb this year and I posted recently about an upcoming blood test that I was super nervous about. Well, I just got the results. New HbA1c is... (drumroll) 31!!!! Hurrah...

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

I think so? I basically eat a portion of meat and a portion of veg for each meal (lunch and dinner). In between I snack on pork puffs or salami if anything. So it’s all primarily protein... Started taking multi vitamins a couple of weeks ago but haven’t noticed any change yet.

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

Thank for sharing this. I hope it’s just part of the loss and will resolve itself when I stop. But doc seemed to want to rule things out and I wasn’t going to object. He seems like a really nice doc actually - hope I always see him!

Really annoyed by NHS Diabetes prevention program

I’ve had an insane couple of weeks at work so hadn’t seen a lot of these responses! Thank you to everyone who took time to share their thoughts. I think the programme is just not for me - though I should perhaps be less judgemental since it clearly has helped several people in just this thread...

    Celebrating My Lifestyle Change

4 week weigh in day! Another 4.8kg down. That takes me to 37.7kg lost in total. Feels like I’m CRAWLING towards first target loss of 50kg but hey, at least I’m moving! Had a blood test yesterday also that I’m weirdly nervous about. It was mainly to check for vitamin deficiencies bc I am...

Really annoyed by NHS Diabetes prevention program

Btw, I am due for a blood test to check my A1c levels this month. I'm nervous about it but I've lost almost 33kg being low carb then Keto so I am unlikely to change - at least until my BMI hits the normal range. I only weigh myself once a month so I don't know for sure but I believe I should...

Really annoyed by NHS Diabetes prevention program

I think the interesting thing is how long it takes big institutions to adapt as nutritional science gets better. Lots of people see the "high fat" part of LCHF as eating massive amounts of chips or something - vs olive oil, salmon, full fat yogurt etc. I think that maybe the powers that be just...

Lol your opening sentence made me laugh. Thank you for reminding me that I’ve achieved something already, even if it’s not yet the A1c. Btw great username [emoji173]️
