    Iron Deficiency

Have you been checked for a gluten intolerance? A relative recently disovered they are a coeliac and one of their symptoms was anaemia as it is caused by nutrients not being absorbed. Could be worth checking on the off chance. Hope you are better soon

    Any recommended cold remedies please

Hi there, can anyone recommend anything for a cold. I used to hit the honey & lemon or a beechams but that was pre-diagnosis. Also used to have a spoonful of local honey a day for hayfever, but guessing this could now do as much harm as good. Sorry if this is a ridiculous question but as a...

    Veggie eating out

I have just been diagnosed so trying to learn what I can particularly about a low carb diet. Can anyone recommend any particular types of pub/restaurant or menu choices when eating out. I'm a veggie and I don't eat fish so this restricts my choices. I know to avoid places which list lasagne or...

    My fitness pal

I've lost 8lb using this app since I had my first high blood reading, pre my eventual diagnosis. Have however scared myself by how much carbs I eat so I know I need to research this to see where I can make changes for the better (my challenge). Might not be wholly accurate as depends on recipes...

A relative of mine gets really down and doesn't like going out much but she got the courage to go on a bus journey. It wasn't far but was a really big step for her. We all have ups and downs but it isn't always...

    Any recommended reading please?

First appointment with the nurse was not exactly a success. I will not be defeated however..... Really want to make my diagnosis a new start of healthy eating and exercise to manage this as best I can, and make sure my child doesn't follow in my footsteps. As the nurse was about as much help as...

    What to expect next

I am type 2. Thanks all, was asked to read up as my homework which is great as it meant I got to the website and forum. Good to know what to expect as it makes next week feel less daunting. Next stop, research cutting down on my carbs as I didn't realise how my diet centralised round them til...

    What to expect next

Hi all, I have just been diagnosed this week and am going through all kinds of thoughts. My readings were 9.1 and then 8.8. It's been a nightmare just trying to see a Dr just to get these results, been going on since the start of March! Pretty gutted right now as it turns out I had a reading of...
