Type 1 2 year old diabetic

It's very difficult to advise on such a little dot. But don't be panicked by the hyper, are we saying bloods in the teens. Keep testing her bloods & the chances are they will start to drop .it's very easy to over correct a hypo food wise & hyper insulin wise it then becomes a roller coaster...

    license revoked -

Unfortunately with diabetes comes a label. It's very easy for consultants to say if your well controlled you should never hypo. Cobb...s. The tighter you control the more likely you are to be in the 2s & 3s occasionally. They just can't except that. I am about to have my licence revoked because...

can anyone help ? Worried mum of a type 1

Just adding to all other replies. This was undoubtedly a hypo, very low blood sugar. Possibly bought on by alcohol especially spirits. A call for paramedic assistance would probably have been better for all concerned. The police were obviously totally out of order on all counts. After nearly 40...

    Type 1 Help?

Type 1 diabetics don't pay for eye tests. Your entitled to 1 free eye test a year. But you do pay for glasses unless your on certain benefits. If your eye test is at a hospital clinic then you stand more chance of an N.H.S voucher for a small amount of discount. Hope all goes well.

Type 1 Severe pain in the eye following intravitreal Eylea injection

I've never really had pain that lasts more than a few hours , general discomfort sometimes. Just because the actual procedure isn't painfully doesn't necessarily mean you'll have no later after affect. Having had over 100 jabs of Avastin Lucentis eyelea the after affects have all been...

    M.R.I. Scans in the eye.

Thanks for the reassurance, I've had MRI s before but never on the eyes or head. Just afraid they may not find a brain in there. So no pain in the eyes after or headache and the like. My usual consultant has never suggested this, and I see her regularly. My scans today we're good and my...

    M.R.I. Scans in the eye.

After an appointment at the Glaucoma clinch today, and a very uncomfortable examination, I was called at home a few hours later by the Registrar. He said he would like to do MRI ,s on both eyes. To try and establish a reason for the loss in peri feral vision I am suffering. I have been...

Type 1: Driving License Revoked by DVLA

Unfortunately specavers are now the only opticians that dvla use, unless you live somewhere like the outer Hebredies. After laser and nearly 100 eye injections over the last 6 years I still have my licence. Lost it for 6 months due to a lapse in the jabs. I have lost possibly 30% peripheral...

    Diabetic Retinopathy

I've had loads of bilateral jabs, and you'll be fine. The jnjections have cleared my Retinopathy completely. No bleeds, no dots. But unfortunately the Edema keeps returning, so the injections are ongoing. Would like to know if anyone is using the Nocturnal mask for Edema (oedema) only. Not...

    Never had a hypo...

I never get the shakes, or sweats. Never have,in 36 years. Don't know how low it's gone sometimes because I've not been capable of testing. Over the years I've been found at work , unconscious. Once lost five hours out of a day, and couldn't recall anything about it. I worked for years alone...

    Different types of hypos

My advice as a T1 is never ignore any signs of a hypo always test. Otherwise if you continue doing or try to carry on doing certain tasks things might become more blurred, you then may loose control, of helping yourself. You then enter a whole new ball game, that's not pleasant. Not trying to...

    Highs and lows

Sorry but drinking cider or beer is like drinking sugar. Try becks or other low carb lagers. There are lots to choose from.☺

    Alcohol

If your drinking spirits with mixers always ask for bottles of diet. That way if you see the bottle it gives you the reassurance of knowing what's in them. Wine has little effect on my bloods. Stay away from beer and ciders, they generally are full of sugar. Just don't go mad til you know ...
