Spaced out - is this Insulin?

I just put yesterday's spacey feeling down to 'one of those days' but today it is worse. Is this the Lantus? or could it be the Amytriptaline? I would have thought such a low dose of Amy shouldn't really leave you spacey but this is getting to be difficult.

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

7.9 this morning. Not on the Canoglaflixin from today, so will see if this makes things go back up.

Congrats sounds like a good result for you. I was in the 20's but now on Lantus and even after just a couple of days my readings are in the 7's.

Only just noticed this area of the forum...

Silly me!! Recently started Lantus injections 28 units daily at dinner time. Also on Bydureon once weekly injections. Also on Gliclazide. Recently lost a ton of weight but it doesn't appear to have helped by diabetes, yet, but still losing so hopefully should come good soon.

    Very very high levels!!!!

Hope things have settled down for you now. I was running in mid to high 20s for quite some time and my GP and DSN knew, but they didn't do anything, but I would avoid the pasta if I was you, it won't help at all. I am on Lantus now too, but like others have said looks like you need some other...

    Unwanted effects?

@jack412 Ha ha you are probable right, I was really stroppy with them!! I have actually just looked this up and the type of drugs that Bydureon, Byetta and Victoza are, are starting to be licenced for use with Levimir and Lantus, so they must be ok.

    Unwanted effects?

The following information is on the leaflet and website that comes with Bydureon: Make sure your doctor knows if you are also using insulin. You should not use prandial insulin (such as Apidra®, Lantus®) while you are using this medicine. Using these medicines together may cause unwanted...

    Told to test 4 times a day.....when??

Well I have tested a little bit more to start anyway, more really because I am interested in the action of the Lantus on my bloods. I have been running in the high teens to low twenties for months, and only recently this started to drop but just not enough. My pre-lunch reading was 5.1 and I...

    Told to test 4 times a day.....when??

GP is really helpful, more strips wouldn't be a problem at all. It was just suggested by the nurse. Not just on Lantus also on: Bydureon Injections weekly Gliclazide 2 x daily

Hi, I have started Lantus Insulin today and my DSN has told me to test more often than I do, she has asked for 4 times a day, and for the first week one of those times to b 3am. I am taking my Lantus at dinner time in the evening, has anyone any best ideas of the other 3 times to record? I was...

    New Regime

Cheers for the info, looks interesting will get a proper read once I am home. I can't tolerate Metformin of any kind have tried a few times, unfortunately I have quite a sensitive stomach, couldn't handle Pioglitazone due to water retention, made my heart go funny too, glimeperide gave me...

    New Regime

Yes to overweight, have managed to lose almost 2 stone by following a low carb diet, but unfortunately my sugars still seem extremely high, but to be honest I really struggle to understand why they are so high. If taking massive amounts of Sulphonylureas only brings down my sugars a small amount...

    New Regime

Right so back from hospital, DSN was surprised about my GP's decision to put me on Canoglaflixin (or however it's spelt) but I said to her he wanted me to try this to get my sugars down until the DSN could put me onto insulin. She said why hasn't he prescribed insulin, I replied that he as...

We don't have DSN in our GP surgery, apparently because there is a massive waiting list for the training. I am glad I was referred to the hospital, but we have a specialist diabetic GP in our surgery, and he referred me for Exenetide and now I am under them apparently I can see them if I need...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

9.0 this morning, day two of the new meds, but off to the hospital to go onto insulin today so won't really have enough time on the new meds to see if they could help.

I'm on a LCHF diet but this hasn't been bringing down my readings by much, I also have Hemachromatosis, and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver DIsease, and I am on so many meds now that I forget what I am taking!! Hoping when I move to insulin I can stop the tablets. Can't wait. Appointment tomorrow at...

Does anyone have any tips for coping with this, currently sitting at my desk in work, just been in a meeting for half an hour and I really am struggling to cope with this feeling of hot water being poured over my foot. It isn't just warm any more it feels like too hot to touch water and it makes...

7.9 this morning my lowest reading yet. I had a low reading yesterday afternoon also, 1 hour after dinner, perhaps all of the meds are finally working.
