    Nearly died at the A & E

I've bumped this up because on another thread people have mentioned that the OP should start their own thread. Well this is one that they started. Maybe they need to post a different one? More specific?

What are the best snacks and healthy alternatives which work for you?

Nuts mainly Macademia's and Pecans but also Brazils, Walnuts and Almonds. BUT I'm starting to eat far too many of them these dark nights. <sighs> Chunks of cheese mainly cheddar types. Montezuma's Absolutely Black 100% chocolate. The odd blueberry, raspberry or cherry tomato.

Help please .. Advice re Gliclazide

Most people on here love them so I am sure that someone will come along and rave about them. Me I thought that they were disgusting. There are also other low carb breads around. Not low carb enough for me to indulge though. If I was you I wouldn't be tormenting yourself with thoughts of what...

Once I had that information I could make an informed decision about what to eat. The idea is to not have a rise of more than...

    Newly diagnosed, scared and confused

I realised that when you said 'naughty' you were trying to lighten things up. As I said everyone is different and how they want to live with their diabetes is too. IMO there isn't a right or wrong answer to how we choose to deal with our condition. How you chose to deal with it is entirely up...

    Goodbye

Very basically we swop the carbs (which give us energy) for fats (which give us energy). We have to eat more carbs to get the same amount of energy and less fat because fat is energy rich. Low fat foods swop fat for carbs so low fat food is higher in carbs. +Natural fats are good for us. I...

    Newly diagnosed, scared and confused

I've stopped replying because at the end of the day it's up to an individual how they deal with their diabetes. If they aren't concerned about getting complications and want to continue to eat the same as they have always then that is up to them. Ditto if someone wants to eat as they used to...

bemindful.co.uk Might be a good place to start There is also buddist mindfulness if you have any centres near to you. Edited to add I used some online classes first but then found a very good local class to me. Normally they are run as 8 week courses. I would also recommend tai chi or chi...
