    My Fiasp Findings So Far...

Soooo 5 months in and I quit Fiasp a couple of days ago. [emoji22] As a woman, the insulin -for me- couldn’t cope with the different hormonal states throughout the month. Basically I spent a week hypo and three weeks in the high teens and this week above my CGM capabilities. (22!) Yes, I did...

We are so lucky here in the UK...T1 children die in India [emoji22]

I’m often here moaning about something trivial and it wasn’t until I read an email from a colleague who happens to run a charity for children with T1 in India that I realised just how lucky we diabetics are to have the NHS. In India there is no free access to insulin meaning T1 children often...

    My Fiasp Findings So Far...

Update...think (???) I may go back to Humalog. PMT and period resistance is horrendous and I’m regularly 20ish!!! this is despite running on 130% basal and tons of corrections. Clearly carb ratio needs to change as that’s when I get my main probs but it’s too scary for me to increase insulin...

    Pump Insurance

Eeeeek I’m not insured? It’s never been mentioned to me? I’m a funded NHS patient if that makes a difference? Whenever there are any problems with my pump, Medtronic change it straight away. I lose everything but that’s the good thing about it being attached all the time [emoji3]I even wear it...

    Pump failure help

If you don’t want to go to A&E, if it were me (note I’m not a doc!) I’d take humalog now (whatever your usual correction dose is) then when you get back to a better range, see if you can calculate your 24 basal total and spread out over injections every 4 hours - including throughout the night...

    My Fiasp Findings So Far...

Just an update approx two months in... •high post-prandial spikes are still a major problem for me (including some super hike spikes to 15 again) although I don’t stay as high for as long and come down quicker when corrected so I’m definitely going to persevere. My consultant has advised taking...

Type 1.5 Fiasp needing different ratios from Humolog

Hi, I switched from Humalog but didn’t experience this however from my reading I understand that increasing ratios is very common. (I’m randomly extra sensitive.)

Such a Great Day - No Complications [emoji3]

That’s fantastic and really nice for people like me almost 30 years in to hear.

Such a Great Day - No Complications [emoji3]

Really great to hear- wow 48 years. That’s brilliant. So different from the stereotype or perhaps scaremongering I’ve encountered from medical professionals over the years. Feeling really excited about the future and not worried now.

Such a Great Day - No Complications [emoji3]

I had my hospital appointment today. I happened to mention that I felt waiting for my complications to come on feels like I’m a time bomb. (I’m almost 30years type1 although only got stable, background retinopathy.) I was seriously overjoyed at my amazing doctor’s well-supported argument that...

Type 1 LASIK treatment to correct non-diabetic related vision. Anyone had it done?

I’d love to hear from anyone who has had corrective laser treatment to correct vision. I’m type 1 (for 30 years), have background retinopathy but not yet required laser surgery for this. I went to a bog standard clinic to get treatment to correct my vision but due to the retinopathy /...
