    Foot checks

I'm so sorry about your amputation. I hope your walking is not too difficult. Did you have any gradual signs that it would come to that? Were you being negligent in your diet or was it just your own physiological type? Anyway, check your foot every day for cracks or numbness. If you don't...

Do you take insulin every day?

Hi, I have glyclazide, metformin and Humulin insulin in my diabetic care basket. My numbers vary according to diet, activity, and meds. I sometimes don't need to take the max dose for all, though glyclazide and met I take at least once every day. I wonder if you take insulin every day?

Type 1 Sudden increase in insulin sensitivity

Me too! But I think it is due to a change of medication. I have gone down from 42 or so, units of insulin to 10 to attain about the same average of blood sugar numbers trough the day. I do eat less, but not that much less.

    Diabetes and relationships

"Freaking out a couple of times" may not be unusual. I couldn't have a better husband, but there are times when my expectations may be too much for him. Maybe this too will pass?

The lower the insulin, the higher the blood sugar?

Thank you all who responded. I noticed the change (I lowered my insulin dose as BS got lower) since a new medication. Maybe the drug itself, or its influence on eating less.

Isn't that the way it's supposed to be?

Type 1 Any link between diabetes and feeling cold?

I, too get temperature fluctuations, but I think it is due to the introduction to a new medication.

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

8.3 I have found a way of sleeping through the night w/out an alarm for hypos: keep bed time bs at 8-9.

    Test Strips

LOL! I have the same problem; same with Ketone strips. I think the manufacturer might supply a pincher of some sort. I drop the whole batch evenly near the edge and pick one out nimbly. It's tricky, I agree. You might find something in your desk that can do the job.

8.1- I think I have adjusted my insulin now.

    What happens now

It's happened to me a quite a few times, when I try to compensate for a hypo and eat too much. But then, it goes down gradually, with the addition of glyclazide and diet.

How much insulin do you take?

Good luck with the new GLP-1 medication. It seems that insulin resistance is pretty widespread, regardless of the type of diabetes.

Sorry for a possible glitz - using a laptop and then answering from here when reply did not appear. Try again: "Wow! That is quite an encyclopedic list of symptoms.! What is the cause or causes for all?"

    Blood Pressure Explained

TriciaWS, I do worry about that for a relative of mine; on 3 antihypertensives. She is falling into two 3 hr. naps per day, and has very low activity, very sluggish. For her age, I think her "normal" bp may actually not be the best for her esp. as her other meds also cause low blood...
