    Insulin

You may be able to get a prescription from your own GP faxed to a pharmacy where you are. You will have to go into the pharmacy and ask if that is possible.

Started IF and higher Fasting BG levels

You could try skipping your evening meal instead of breakfast. That would probably tone down the dawn phenomenon. There is no rule saying that your eating window has to be in the evening. I can and do take metformin on an empty stomach with no issues, the only way to know is to try it and see...

    Metformin

The drug info says not to drink excessively as it can cause a hypo. If you are really worried about it you should call your doctor as no one here is able to give you medical advice. I have had the odd drink with no ill effects and I am on the max dose of metformin. I would not skip my meds...

    Wearing socks inside out

When my boys hit their teens they would not put things like socks in the laundry. I refuse to chase laundry, if its not in the hamper it doesn't get washed. When they ran out of clean socks they would wear my socks. Needless to say my white socks would never be the same so I started buying the...

    Wearing socks inside out

If someone cares that much that your socks are inside out or even don't match then they need to get a life. Makes sense to keep the seam from rubbing if you have problems with your feet. I find socks that are tight on my toes are a problem.

    Type 2 Fasting blood sugar

Hi and welcome to the forum. The reason for the overnight rise is called dawn phenomenon. Pretty much everyone experiences it to one degree or another including non diabetics. If you do a search on the forum for it there are many threads discussing it but basically it is your liver pumping out...

    Stop finger pricking!

I never thought of Ebay. Can't afford the price however. It would have to be something I can get a prescription for so third party would pick it up. They cover my blood ketone strips which surprised me.

    Stop finger pricking!

I wish the libre was available in Canada. I would love to try it. I would be very curious to see what goes on with my blood sugar overnight.

    Getting despondent.....

Sound like your partner is a twin to mine and yes it is very frustrating. My hubby actually has an A1c higher than mine at this point but firmly believes he can continue to do as he pleases and makes a point of it in front of me. Then to top it off he gets into and eats my stash of pepperoni and...

    American healthcare vs U.K. Healthcare

Other than we do not have compulsory private health insurance it sounds almost exactly like Canada. I am in British Columbia which seems to be the only province that charges a monthly premium, based on income, for government medical coverage, and it is compulsory. Low income people or families...

    Type 2 Trajenta/Linagliptin 5mg

I have been on forxiga and metformin for about 8 months now with no issues at all. I have lost 30 pounds low carbing in that time and my A1c has gone from 10.4 to 5.8. There is a slight risk of DKA with it but I monitor my blood ketones every day and no problems. The other main side effect is...

    American healthcare vs U.K. Healthcare

Here in Canada you might have a very long wait for a surgery or procedure that is elective and for a non life threatening condition but if you need acute care you get it immediately. The stereotype that is often presented of Canada's medical system, which is very similar to the UK, is just plain...
