Anyone here on low carb doing for long time?

For those of us in the UK, Australia, NZ, total carbs and net carbs are the same thing on our food labels. Not sure how it works in other countries. USA for sure you have to do your own deduction for fibre.

    Neuropathy Garbage

Just adding: there's a mix of supplements known as the DPN cocktail that has been recommended for many years: The DPN cocktail has three components: Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) as contained in Evening Primrose Oil (EPO), and Vitamin C. If you do an internet search for...

    Neuropathy Garbage

If you look in the Alternative Treatments section - https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/category/alternative-treatments.10/ - of the forum, there are quite a few threads about ALA (alpha lipoic acid), eg. https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/alpha-lipoic-acid-works.158137/ CBD is an...

    Neuropathy Garbage

My understanding of neuropathy is that the root cause is spikes in blood glucose damaging micro blood vessels. So treating the cause is to control blood glucose levels. It certainly worked for me - when first diagnosed I already had signs of neuropathy which thankfully have all reversed since I...

Study links migraines to reduced risk of type 2 diabetes

Well, it certainly doesn't fit my experience - I wasn't a chronic sufferer, but have had infrequent migraines since the age of 18. I doubt that it matches @Goonergal's experience either. Ending up with both isn't much fun :D Dr Angela Stanton's method of curing migraines using the ketogenic...

Anyone here on low carb doing for long time?

Under 100g per day for 6.5 years now. I'd probably average 50-60g most of the time. For the past couple of years, I've also introduced time restricted eating, so I still get into ketosis overnight. My fasting window varies from a minimum of 13 up to 19hrs. Not aware of any complications of Type...

Are you a member at the Diet Doctor site? If so, there's a great talk by Dr Ted Naiman from the Low Carb Cruise where he covers a lot of the science on protein and the protein leverage hypothesis. If you can't access the video at Diet Doctor, there's also an audio version of his talk at Jimmy...

But the OP was talking about wishing to prevent further weight loss and that was the context in which I replied. BG wasn't mentioned as an issue. When talking about the zombie myths, I was referrring particularly to the myths about kidney damage which has been disproven over and over again -...

Funny thing is, most of the top protein researchers absolutely disagree with this statement. There seem to be a lot of "zombie myths" about protein that won't die, no matter how much research proves them wrong. Eat protein to satiety - works for me. Been weight stable for over 2 years now.
