Type 1 Macaroni dry and cooked-help

you may find that the calculation may be off slightly as there will be more than 200g of cooked pasta on your plate now...... you may be a bit short but not far off....

3 different results. Which one should I log?

Its better for your sanity if you pick one meter, choose to trust it......and go from there.......the variances you observed in this instance are negligible.....

Type 1 Diabetic, 22 years old

Looking back I didn't think it was too bad.... I took it all on myself from day one......was using mixed insulin's for many years so my management wasn't too full on.... And of course, in the early years of diabetes your body can take a pounding without feeling too rough..... changes days now...

Type 1 Diabetic, 22 years old

35, diagnosed 20 years ago........ My younger brother is type one and I came across a few during my high school days.....other than that, no one else is around..... Just as well, as I would get tired of lecturing them all......;)

    Gardening Hypos

Do you prefer to cut the grass on a certain day or time of day? Its still physical activity, which you may not consider the same as planned exercise and so don't make and adjustments.... I almost always go low when doing the grass.....and for some reason, I never plan ahead.....;)

    Type 1 Insulin pump basal

Doctors saying the basal should be this and should be that is nonsense..........the delivery of basal insulin is what you have established you need to hold your BG steady in the absence of food or bolus insulin....... Just for information, here my daily intake: 00:00 - 1.4u/H 01:00 - 1.45u/H...

    Type 1 Post meal spikes

It sounds like a split dose might be needed so you can cater for both your overnight and daytime differences separately.. but then Tresiba is meant to be a single, long acting dose..... see what the basal testing uncovers....;)

    Type 1 Post meal spikes

I suppose its not an exact science...but looking to see when your glucose levels stop moving up or down would confirm it...... obviously this depends on a correct basal dose.....

    Type 1 Post meal spikes

So, as mentioned the 45 minute pre bolus probably isn't ideal, but this isn't the norm you mentioned..... on this occasion though the peak of the food, which may be delayed because of the beans, was missed by the insulin peak... Normally you expect, or want, to see the BG peak up 1,2 or 3mmol...

    Type 1 Post meal spikes

So at 1800, you are saying that this is the peak of the novorapid? nearly 5 hours after injecting.....that seems unlikely, or not something one would assume was the case.....is it not the case that the 11mmol is actually the end result after your insulin has expired....? which leaves the issue...

    Abbot Libre

Not everyone needs alarms.........for me, the people that do are in a minority......the Libre isn't intended to serve that purpose.....
  13. novorapidboi26

    Type 1 Post meal spikes

DAFNE taught me that beans were actually not to be considered fully due to their slow release......but I normally take for half of the stated carbs....and that seems to work a treat, even on the pump.... Maybe the 45 minutes wasn't the right timing and the insulin peak missed the meal...

    Basal monitoring/adjusting

Just a question.......are you sleeping longer than 8 hours.....? as you essentially don't need to scan more frequently than that..... I don't know any sites off the top of my head but with injections you are prettyty limited to the scope of any adjustment.....provided there is no significant...

    Urinating every 30 minutes

It may be that the fixed dose you have for breakfast every morning wasn't sufficient.... Are you on a basal/bolus regime..?...[separate quick/slow insulin's]
  19. novorapidboi26

    sugar level wont come down

It all depends if there was sufficient insulin to move the glucose on so to speak....so not necessarily....
