    Pregnant Belly Syndrome?

Thanks Gezzabelle but I don't think portion size is a problem for me. I don't seem to have much appetite and see above. I just have to plan ahead more, get off this **** computer and put some effort into preparing and eating the right foods and stop mucking about, otherwise I'll just make...

    Pregnant Belly Syndrome?

Yes, I know I can't expect to have a bikini body at my age ...lol. But I would just like it to go in a bit at the waist instead of out. I'm also hoping for an improvement in my back problem as hauling what looks like an 8lb baby around can't be doing it any favours :( As I've said on another...

    Pregnant Belly Syndrome?

Hi @brottonmoores I've taken onboard what @AndBreathe says and looks like it's just a case of wait for it to go. I stand in front of the mirror and hold it all in with my hands and think "if only" because apart from the belly I wouldn't be too concerned about the rest of my shape. Having a...

    Pregnant Belly Syndrome?

Thanks @AndBreathe I understand what you say and it makes sense. I can and will have the patience to wait for the fat to go but I read about the Diastasis and wondered if I was flogging a dead horse waiting for the big belly to go just with weight loss.

    Pregnant Belly Syndrome?

Well first off, I'm definitely not pregnant ..lol, being well past child-bearing age. My problem is that if I stand sideways in front of a mirror (and lift up my heavy boobs - sorry if that's TMI) I have the same shape as someone who is 9 months pregnant!! Under my bust I measure 36" then I...

    Confused . Com

That's terrible :( What finally alerted you or your GP to the fact that you might be diabetic? (If you don't mind me asking)

i need to get back on track

Oh I know what it's like when you don't feel comfortable with your weight. Nothing quite so depressing and it does drain your self-esteem. I stopped wanting to go to family things, etc. because I was fed up with the "disguise dressing" baggy tops and having nightmares over what I thought...

i need to get back on track

Well done xx As you say, though, it will be hard not to get complacent because if you've had a few "cheats" and got away with it you might find it harder to keep off them. I suppose if you just think how disappointed you will be if your next HBa1c has gone up again, that might help x Good...

i need to get back on track

Aww I do feel for you ickihun x I think my partner served as a warning to me when I was recently diagnosed because he has just progressed to more and more pills and now insulin and he just doesn't take it seriously even though he's had 2 mild heart attacks :( Instead of feeling deprived when I...

i need to get back on track

OMG I am in the last stage of making this - just waiting for the base to cool down and then spread the topping on. That's if there's any topping left by then because it's so delicious I keep dipping in the bowl (blush). I couldn't get lemon jelly crystals so I got strawberry instead but it...

    I don't understand

:D Yes I suppose it would be surprising seeing it all in a lump like that. I just wish it had come off my belly/midriff area but I guess that will be the hardest to shift.

    I don't understand

Thank you x I appreciate your comments. Thank you too x I know many people on here know far more than I do about it but I'm still learning and obviously still have a lot to learn but it is a steep learning curve and hopefully I'm getting there. Time will tell.

    I don't understand

Thank you x With regard to testing I admire your dedication and I'm sure you have achieved your admirable results as a result of putting in the time and effort to find out what foods suit you and what don't. I just don't have the time, the test strips or the inclination to devote so much to...

    A Month Into Low Carbing

Thank you x I did join MyfitnessPal which is a similar thing and free but I found it a bit tedious filling it all in. What with keeping my own record including BS readings, plus that and this forum being so informative I feel like I spend too much time on here and not enough time moving about...

    I don't understand

Well bearing in mind that just keeping an eye on how my levels were through the day is basically all I set out to do and I must have read somewhere that testing 2 hours after meals was the most revealing because that's what I have believed and that's what I've been doing. I didn't set out to...

    I don't understand

Oh don't say that :( I do mornings on waking, 2 hours after meals and before bed. I really would have sore fingers if I did as you say :( I don't get enough test strips to do more. I don't actually eat breakfast right away. It usually ends up as Brunch as I can't often face food early on...

    I don't understand

It was my fasting test first thing. I just haven't managed to get it down any lower apart from one 5.4 :( Weight loss is stagnant too - just 13 lbs in 3 months. I'll test again and see what I get now. Edit: 6.9

    I don't understand

Oh, right. Thanks x I know I've read about different tolerances but I tend to regard my meter as god and never think that it could possibly be wrong .. lol. I'll try not to panic in future :)

    I don't understand

I had a morning BS of 6.3. Ate half a Lidl's High Protein roll with peanut butter and 2 hours later it was 7.3 :( Does that mean that one or other of them is off limits to me? I have my first blood test next Monday since starting LC/HF and I so want it to be reduced enough to impress the DN.
