    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

I have no thyroid tissue left. I had a scan of it about a year ago and the radiographer said he couldn't see anything. My thyroxine dose can still go up and down which I think is strange.

The receptionist said it was the only one that had come back still waiting for the others.

Seven months into the low carb diet...

I rang my gp's today to ask about my blood results but the receptionist would only tell me that it said no action needed. She wouldn't give me my actual HBA1C so I'll have to wait til next week when I go to see her. I've always had fairly lowish blood pressure but last week it was 100/60 oops!

    Trulicity injection.

I have been on trulicity for about 18 months and have never had a problem with it. When I saw the specialist diabetes nurse after a few months she was really pleased with my weight loss and lower bs. She said she'd seen another patient just before me who'd lost weight but had no change in bs. I...

Anyone had treatment for neuropathy in fingers?

I have had surgery for carpul tunnel on both hands long before I became diabetic. It was more related to my thyroid issues. It was more excruciating pain than numbness though.

Does Low Carb have any other benefits ?

I had been having severe palpitations and a fast heart rate for a couple of years and had to wear a monitor for a week to record the palpitations. I also had a heart scan just before Christmas. I was diagnosed with SVT and advised to take beta blockers with a view to have surgery to burn away...

If you control type 2 diabetes with diet do you lose weight on a low-carb diet (no medicine).

My head is spinning with all this conflicting information. I'm not sure what is the best way to lower bs and lower weight.

    Berberine

I had surgery for graves disease which then caused me to become hypothyroid then unfortunately my thyroid grew back and made me hyperthyroid. I was given radio iodine at Christies which killed off my entire thyroid. My thyroxine dose can change sometimes a couple of times a year so it's never...

    Puddings?

I have bought Greek yoghurt ice lollies from sainsbury and asda (£2.20 at asda today ) they are 33 calories and 8g of carbs per lolly. They're not really sweet like most ice lollies and they're only small but if you just want a little something after dinner they hit the spot. They're called...

    Well who'd have thought it!

I went to see the dn this morning after waiting for a month. I wasn't feeling very optimistic as when I rang for advice at the beginning of January the dn was very anti low carb. Luckily I saw another dn who was really on the same page as me and although she isn't diabetic she'd done lc and...

    XLS

I took fat blockers (I think they were called zenecal then) they were prescribed by my gp. My friend also took them (she called them s##t tablets) because that was the affect they had on you. They were horrible, unless you ate no fat at all you would suffer the consequences and if you didn't...

    No appetite

I started taking metformin when I was first diagnosed about 5 years ago and have never had a problem with it. I still need to lose about 4 stone so I can afford to miss a few meals! It only worries me that I might not be getting enough vitamins. I will buy some vitamins tomorrow and my appetite...

    No appetite

I have been doing the lchf diet for about 4 weeks and am happy with the reduction in insulin I've been able to make. I enjoy my breakfast which is porridge (not low carb I know ) but it isn't pushing up my bs by too much. The problem is I have no appetite for the rest of the day. I am married...

Seven months into the low carb diet...

I'm about 4 weeks into my lchf diet and have lost about a stone and more importantly I've reduced my insulin from 120 units daily to 50 units daily. I've done this without the support of my dn who doesn't agree with "these faddy diets " I have an appointment with her this Thursday so we'll see...

    Nervous about eating fat

I use humalin 3 twice a day. I've reduced from 60 units twice a day to 25 units twice a day. Unfortunately I've had to wait a month to see my dn who when I rang her for advice about reducing carbs told me that they don't approve of faddy diets and I should eat low gi carbs 4 times a day. I...

    Nervous about eating fat

When I read Michael Mosley's book the blood sugar diet it was as though a light bulb had gone on in my head. It made so much sense and I started the diet the very next day.
