Hi guys from stoke on Trent

When I went for my HbA1c test I was 17.5 stone. I am now 15st 10lbs. All I did was calorie control and stay away from spud, pasta and rice. My BG monitor continues to tell me whether I can eat the other stuff. Why not take a look at the ideas people put on here for meals? I am forever stealing...

Hi guys from stoke on Trent

Hi Stokoe and welcome. Looks like we are sort of neighbours as I live in Stafford. I was also recently diagnosed as T2 and with hypothyroidism. In 2007 I had a stroke where it was identified that I had high BP ... well they couldn't really miss it as it was 225/127 when I was admitted!!! The...

    Update - EXAMS :(

I confess I'm not from a school/ sixth form background and most of my teaching was in university. However, if this had occurred in any of our exam settings there would have been hell to pay. Most likely the student would have raised a preliminary complaint with the Dean and argued that opening...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

    Almond Flour

I see a lot of recipes on here that demand almond flour. Unfortunately, I really react very very badly to nuts or nut flour. Can anyone suggest an alternative as my lovely wife wants to make me a low carb cornbread. [emoji5]

    Naturefile

Hi @debrasue it may be the little thing is simply cooling down in a similar way to dogs. They like the feel of cool air passing through their mouth.

    Concerns

Hi @nosher8355 as I am trying to lose weight everything I eat is portion/ calorie controlled so I know everything was the same. As a vegan I avoid cow's milk and use unsweetened soya milk. I've been using the same brand for weeks, so nothing new there either.

    Concerns

Thanks for the replies. @Avocado Sevenfold I don't think I am coming down with anything. In fact I really feel well. I am going to try and take your advice and not worry about it - maybe things will balance out over the coming days. @Bluetit1802 yes I was scrupulously clean before testing...

Fasting was a healthy 5.3 but 2 hours post-breafast it shot up to 8.2. Not a happy bunny at all [emoji45][emoji45][emoji45][emoji45]

    Concerns

Hi folks. As some of you will know, I am a newbie to testing, having only been diagnosed about 3 weeks so. As I explained elsewhere, I rather expected to be told I was T2 so started on a campaign to change my diet and lose weight. Since then, I have lost over a stone and my readings have...

    Snacking

Since retiring I spend a lot of my days walking around nature reserves. Sometimes this can mean walking for several miles and I can easily find myself mid-walk feeling physically hungry. I am in the UK and find that Trek bars both keep me going and don't spike my BS too much. If you feel the...
