    Atkins Bars

I've just discovered Atkins bars - not for regular consumption, but as a handy thing to keep in my handbag in case I could get caught short and I can't find anything to eat anywhere. I'm really surprised at how nice they are, and they're actually not too sweet - my particular favourite is the...

    Lo-dough

I'm a very big fan of lo dough! I've done the standard pizza and wraps, and got a bit braver the other day and did a chocolate brownie recipe. This involves blitzing the lo dough into crumbs and using it as a kind of a flour to make brownies with. They were absolutely fine, totally edible and...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast - low carb toast and butter with a wee slop of Sweet Freedom chocolate spread. Tea. Lunch - lo dough lightly toasted for 5 mins in the oven with garlic butter on, paté, SF jelly 1/4 of a doughnut and tea with the olds at mums care home (despite them trying to stuff more sugar in me)...

Can I just ask what the recipe you use for the 90 second bread is? I found one online and tried it but it was ... well ... let's say 'not very nice' [emoji40]! I think it was the baking powder I could taste so strongly. T.I.A.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

The latest in my personal series of 'DIY Nutella' - this is the fastest version (I am 'low-carbing' in order to prevent my pre-diabetes ever becoming diabetes) All I did was add 2 tsp (2g carb per tsp) of 'sweet freedom' chocolate spread to my customary peanut butter and give it a brisk stir...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Lunch today is the latest in my series of 'what lo-dough is really good for' - a really messy, overstuffed BLT! Because lo-dough has a spongy texture it's best if it's moistened with something (like gallons of real mayo [emoji23]) and it was just lovely. I also know I won't be hungry in an...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Until I found out I was marginally prediabetic I ate a lot more carbs than I do now, but I've always eaten stacks of fruit and veg and a generally varied diet. My daughter and I describe husband's diet as 'beige' and today was a perfect example...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Brekkie: low carb toast and peanut butter. Tea Snack: Atkins bar Lunch: chicken and bacon salad, black coffee with cream (As an aside I looked at how different mine and my husband's lunches were - he had a portion of chips, a slab of white bread and butter and a latte with hazelnut syrup!)...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I'm astounded! They're like proper little cupcakes - even a bit squidgy in the middle (like me [emoji15]) I haven't really had success with dessert type things until now

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast - just tea today Mid morning - bowl of pistachios Lunch - avocado and egg on wholemeal toast Dinner - from scratch Bolognese but with long stemmed broccoli rather than pasta .... and the lo dough brownies which are a total success! I will make these regularly. I didn't have a loaf...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

It's because they are made with a substance that is very low in carbs. I'm not on any medication as I'm just barely prediabetic but don't want to develop full blown diabetes so am being very careful with my diet

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I have my eye on a chocolate brownie recipe which I'm going to try tomorrow. I don't have a very good track record with desserts, so fingers crossed!

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I'm not really a pizza fan, but of course since not really being able to have them, I want them [emoji23] it's a really good substitute for a thin crispy pizza base [emoji5]

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yes and it's the quickest thing ever. Lo dough is a low carb low calorie bread substitute which you can buy here https://lodough.co/ and it makes a great pizza! It can be a bit dry so passata is recommended rather than tomato puree. Slap on the passata right up to the edge so it doesn't burn...

Me too! Anything Sandi Toksvig does is great with me - and I didn't like Noel Fielding initially, but they just seem to complement each other and gel so well! I'm not a big cake fan so I could watch that without being hungry but when they bake bread I want to eat it all!

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yes me too, and I actually quite missed having it to hand when I ran out so I ordered another boxfull! I also fling it in the oven to toast a little bit, and have it with pate or full fat cream cheese as well for lunch
