    Weight gain

I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as your blood sugars are ok and you are sure you are not eating more unconsciously as you may be hungrier. I have the same problem. My husband bought me a Fitbit as I wanted to get more mobile and it definitely encourages you. I put on 2 pounds in the...

    Type 2 Hypo??

Yes you can. Been there done that. It can be worse though if you are only on insulin like me.

    Holiday Restaurants

I went to a tapas restaurant in the Lake District earlier this year and ordered a few fish dishes and veggie dishes can't remember what the veg one was but I ended up having a hypo as I overdosed on insulin which was not a lot of fun! So take care but above all else enjoy your holiday.

    Type 2 LCHF

There is no ideal intake. Different amounts for different people. If you are carb heavy at the moment I would reduce gradually eventually many people find 20 - 30g a day works best for them.

    Has anyone had this happen?

I think you need to learn from my mum. She tore a strip off 2 old ladies several years ago and told them if I didn't inject I would die! They were all apologetic after that and said they would never judge on appearances again. Seriously though it's your life and you need to look after yourself...

I was Type 1 all along

I know the feeling! I suspect I may be type one as well as metformin etc did not work and I was on insulin very quickly. I have never had a c peptide test. I feel that my doctor took 1 look at me and said "overweight- type 2"!

    Blood tests....

Yea me too. Veins just disappear I am supposed to drink a lot of water beforehand and sometimes that helps but quite often I come home looking like someone hit my arms with a baseball bat

    Pneumococcal vaccination?

It was no bother. Got it at the same time as my flu jab. It's not an annual thing it lasts for years.

    Murder in the kitchen

    His and Hers Lasagne!

Courgette slices make a good lasagna substitute too.

    Carbohydrate count

Lots of people here find that the lower the carb intake the better their glucose control is.

    Blood test

You were lucky. Our practice phlebotomist is rubbish. She hardly ever gets blood from me and I always end up with a huge bruise! Strangely the best "vampire" I have encountered is the nurse at the hospital clinic who has quite bad arthritis in her hands. Sorry about your dad too. It will take a...

    Trying to lower bloods

I didn't find that metformin made that much difference to my blood sugars but low carb diet has.

Lactulose and Blood Sugar Levels - Don't Read if You're Eating!!

Haven't tried lactulose myself but I found drinking plenty of fluids helped with the constipation. Are you drinking at least 2 litres a day?

    Off to see diabetic clinic

Hope you have got yourself a blood glucose meter to test yourself regularly to see what effect the tablets are having on you. Always carry hypo kit with you just in case. Even if it's just a pack of jelly babies. They might even make you feel better if your sugars are running high just now...

    Hereditary link with type 2

Some older people just don't do research as you have so obviously done. You have to remember that they are a different generation and probably not used to tech as you are. They also think that it only something to do with them and their doctor and no one else's business. Try not to be on hard on...
