    Things I don't really understand.

Blimey that is cynical!! In her defence, she’s relatively new to our Surgery, ex chemo nurse. Has been really supportive and encouraging, is pleased to see someone actively try and get their numbers down. Not the norm she said sighing.

Diarreaha is it caused by metformin or sugar being to high

Metformin also gave me horrendous toilet problems. Was lucky that I was always at home when it would happen, but that was more luck than judgement. Since I’ve stopped taking it my bowels are back to normal. I think your Diabetic Nurse is delusional, so many have problems with it.

In the U.K. hba1c is expressed as mmol Other parts of the world still use a percentage. Neither chart is wrong, just different.

Thanks, yes I got a meter at the start. Was invaluable. Spoke on the phone with DN just after diagnosis. I think I got lucky as she told me it was reversible with certain diets. She mentioned the Fast 12 week thingy, which I looked at but decided against. I wanted a sustainable for life way of...

Thanks everyone. Was prescribed Metformin, 1 tablet first week, 2 for 2nd and then three daily. 5mg Dapagliflozin daily, which got rid of a ridiculous amount of sugar And Atorvastatin which I stopped taking after 4 weeks. Leg cramps and muscle aches were just not worth it. My GP phoned me...

Hi everyone, I’ve been lurking and scouring the forum for the last 10 weeks. 12 weeks ago had a shock diagnosis of Type 2 with an hba1c of 87. I spent the first 2 weeks in the usual head spinning quandary, lots of help and confusing information then thankfully discovered this forum. I...
