LCHF has changed me and my family

I am off to see my doctor tomorrow and a bit nervous, even though I shouldn't be. On a different topic I have had pain in my right heel since I stood on a dirty nail accidently by falling over and was wondering if I am entitled to see a podiatrist urgently as it was dirty and afraid that I would...

LCHF has changed me and my family

It's been a while since I've checked the forum and wanted to update everyone about what has been happening lately in my life. Since starting LCHF two weeks ago (1st August), I've been having more and more undisturbed nights of sleep (but I still get up at 6am) and feeling refreshed afterwards...

Diabetic Low Carber's I need your advice

I've now started to feel dizzy, lightheaded and moody after starting LCHF. I've been having; defrosted raspberries, natural yoghurt and mixed nuts for breakfast, for lunch eggs and bacon, for dinner sliced peppers with steak and I've been snacking on nuts and seeds. I've been quenching my hunger...

Diabetic Low Carber's I need your advice

I've started to take charge of my life. I purchased some test strips from my local pharmacy after finding out what my BS levels were whilst I was at the chemist and the chemist told me that I should go and see my doctor as he believes that I should be prescribed test strips and also to see if I...

Diabetic Low Carber's I need your advice

My parents are now on board with me as they want me to lose 2 stone before I go back to uni and have paid for me to join a local gym which I am glad to, but they still need convincing on the LCHF diet. I also have a problem with snacking and need some ideas on how to deal with this and whether I...

They are still buying snacks in and I've...

Diabetic Low Carber's I need your advice

Going off topic here for a moment but I've recently had a sore red patch under my arm pit and stings when I touch. I have been using a lot of deodorant recently and don't know if it might have set the patch up. What should I do?

Thank you for the blogs Alan. I've been a rebel since Thursday by having a takeaway curry with pilau rice, chips and naan bread, then yesterday to celebrate my 21st I had another takeaway which was a Chinese and tonight I will be having a carvery with all of my family. I also now have money...

Diabetic Low Carber's I need your advice

Hi phoenix, yes I was being referred to a lifestyle programme in Derby but it took them forever to get back to me and when I told them that I was going back to Stoke, they told me to reapply in September. Then I found out that there is one in Stoke, but I have to commit to the programme for a...

Diabetic Low Carber's I need your advice

I got them to watch the food revolution back in April and they just dismissed as utter bull**** and feeding me lies. Hopefully that should change now as the guardian put up an article today reading 'The war on fat is over - and I won'...

Diabetic Low Carber's I need your advice

I will be 21 on Friday. I do prepare most of my own food, but it is mainly lunch and breakfast. As for the evening meal it varies if my family is hungry, if not it's usually toast or snacking. As for drinks its mainly water, cups of tea or coffee with semi skimmed milk and diet coke, but...

Diabetic Low Carber's I need your advice

My recent visit to the doctor's was a complete and utter disaster!! I have not lost any weight in a month (except for a pound) and I stupidly decided to take my parents with me to the appointment as I wanted to discuss starting on the LCHF diet, the doctor just completely blanked out any...

    Renewed Motivation to Lose Weight

I now feel much more motivated to lose weight since watching the diabetes epidemic: tonight on itv. after I went through the worst week of my life with falling into a hypoglycaemic coma on May 23rd. I know that not everyone is going to like it on here, but I am ditching low carb diets and...

    Feeling Angry and Frustrated

My friend knows about diabetes as most of his family have it and felt surprised that they do not follow a low carb diet. I already have a voluntary job at a charity. In my situation I cannot claim any benefits as I am still classed as being in full time education and so have no financial...

    Feeling Angry and Frustrated

I've asked them if they could clear a space out for me in the kitchen, but can't as all of the cupboards are full and also said that if I wanted my own space then I should contribute to rent which I can't as no employer's will hire me. I got stopped from making eggs and bacon as then I would...
