    Hippies

The age of kaftans and wearing bells on necklaces. What was that all about? I remember visiting an aunt who had made me a necklace made out of threaded melon seeds. :wacky:Don't know how many melons she had eaten, but there were lots of seeds on the necklace lol:cool:

I think the new phrase for looking very spruce these days Pasha is scrubs up well, although I've only heard that said by a northerner

Where have all those words and expressions gone ?

As black as Newgate's knocker or "Newgit's" as my nan from Bermondsey would pronounce it. Usually said when there was a dark stormy sky

    "Out of stock"

Thanks for all your advice and tips. It's the blasé attitude that riled me and made me feel really vulnerable because I often think about worse case scenarios what if insulin couldn't be manufactured anymore etc. Then when I turn up to collect my medication and this out of stock is mentioned and...

    "Out of stock"

Thanks nosher8355 and CollieBoy yes I think a chat with the doctor and a change of pharmacy is called for. I know we don't want special treatment, but I don't think the seriousness of our condition is fully considered as though our need for medication is an option :arghh::)

    "Out of stock"

Hi. Am I missing something? A few weeks ago I went to collect my repeat prescription items from the pharmacy at my GPs. I should have been collecting 3 items, however only 2 of the items were available apparently the lancets I had ordered were out of stock. I usually give 3 days as opposed to...

Cannot understand why people need to inject when out?

Gosh just the thought of leaving home without my meter and insulin pens makes me feel panicky. A friend of mine only said the other day I expect your perspective has changed since being diagnosed with Type I diabetes? I said in what respect? She said well I would imagine in the past if you lost...

Is BG harder to control if you are Type 1

I am Type1 and am with you all the way donnellysdogs on the hospital front. It is my worst nightmare and each time I get ill, which thankfully is not too often I panic and say to myself please don't let it be serious that I might end up in hospital. I then think of the poor elderly lady who died...

So desperate not to be T1

Hi Bekki felt a mixture of sadness, anger and then hope for your little one. Sad that this has had to happen to her as I know how I felt being diagnosed with Type 1 nearly 4 years ago at age 55 and it was confusing enough for me being an adult. I wanted the doctors to be wrong, but of course...

    You couldn't make it up

Just had to share these two moments of exasperation. On Monday I had to go for a scan as my doctor was worried I may have an abdominal aortic aneurism. Thankfully the nurse was able to tell me that all was well and that my aorta was on the narrow side so that was a good sign. Anyway 1st moment...
