    I'm not fasting completely bulkbiker! I am going to eat within a 6 hour window, so had something at 12.30pm and at 4.30pm and will fast until tomorrow at 12.30. At least that's the plan anyway....;) Oh and my blood was 7.1 so quite pleased.

    I don't mind butternut squash in soup but as a potato substitute I think I'd rather do without...which I can easily. I have just started fasting today so wanted to up my cals a bit so I thought it sounded like a good idea. I will know soon I guess!

    I've just read something on another forum stating that though sweet potatoes are lower carb they have more sugar. Can anyone clarify which is best please? Also I'm going to try cooking/cooling and reheating to increase resistant starch. Has anyone any thoughts on this too? Thanks a lot :-)

    It was two hours. I always test after 2. Strangely tonight I got a reading of 10.0 after eating!! I did it again a few minutes later and it had gone down to 6.6. My readings are normally quite stable so goodness knows what's going on.

    I had a late breakfast of flaxseed muffin (including Ceylon cinnamon and walnuts) and coffee with cream. I just took my blood and the reading was 4.9!! Is that too low? Surely the cinnamon can't make that much difference??

    Thanks Alexandra. I thought it might have to be more "carby" than that so was a bit worried about having to guzzle down biscuits!
