    Type 2 Bread?

At the moment I'm liking HiLo from Sainsbury's, a new one to me and I think my favourite. Another option is LivLife from Waitrose. Somebody recently found an extremely low carb bread in a Polish shop. One slice of either is small, and about 5g carbs. Even less in the Polish case. Also, much as...

    Best way to lose weight?

Doesn't sound like a huge amount to work on there, depending on quantities. I also have to count calories regardless of how low carb I go. Do you have a carb count and calorie count for that lot? I'm especially thinking carbs in the case of the pease pudding, and calories in the case of the...

CAN I PLEASE ASK HOW EXERCISE EFFECTS PEOPLE'S BS

LOL! Brilliant! I thought I was looking in a mirror for a second :) I think that captures my face perfectly, except mine's probably a bit more yellow.

3 DIFFERENT READINGS 3 DIFFERENT METERS 1 BLOOD SAMPLE

I have to say congratulations on the overall downward trend, it's remarkable when you see it like that.

    Best way to lose weight?

If you post a typical day's food - types and amounts, plus a typical day's exercise, people may spot things to work on.

Nooooooooooooooooooo! Where's the 'scared' and the 'should have kept my mouth shut' emoticons!?

Type 2 How often should you change your lancet

This is reassuring. I'd always used one per test in the past, for hygiene and just in case residue from the previous test affects the next reading. I have to admit I've been re-using the same lancets more and more recently, and thought that was just me being a bit scummy :)

Send 'em all! I'll try them all on and take photos, post them on here and people can give me their opinions on which ones look most fetching :)

3 DIFFERENT READINGS 3 DIFFERENT METERS 1 BLOOD SAMPLE

Even if you'd tested the same sample 3 times in the SAME meter, the readings could have varied just as much or even more. Though some meters are also known to be, on average, higher or lower than others. To make things even more confusing, some meters differ more from others when the true value...

    Lidl high protein rolls

I've still got a lot of LivLife bread in my freezer after making a big journey to a Waitrose about 20 miles away and stocking up. I think it's pretty good. However I couldn't resist getting some of the HiLo stuff from Sainsbury's recently after you mentioned it, just to see what it was like...

First 36 Hour Fast - Confused

No, no salt. Probably would have been a good idea since I was also sweating a fair bit going up the hills! I'll bear that in mind next time. The lightheadedness came and went and wasn't too bad overall, I don't think it was worse than the first time. It didn't get worse throughout the day...

First 36 Hour Fast - Confused

Well after having a small breakfast things are returning to normal, my head has stopped spinning and I've started to think clearly, which is nice. Some detective work has revealed that my car is parked where it has been every day for the last 12 months, and the other sock is on the other foot...

Have a little bit of sympathy and a hug from me :)

    Type 2 Lidl's Rolls

It's a matter of personal judgement and how you interpret current 'science' I guess. I'd say a reasonable evidence-based target to aim for, for long-term health, is < 7.8 at 2 hours, and even better if you can stay less than that at 1 hour. To within the accuracy of meters, I'd say you got a...

    4.3 after food.

I'd be very happy with those numbers after lots of Chinese food. I'd be very happy with those numbers after eating NO food! Whatever you are doing to avoid the transition from pre-diabetes to T2, keep it up, and keep checking!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I got a 5.4 this morning, after trying my first 36 hour fast. In some ways I'm pleased - I've been in constant damage territory for weeks, often about 9.5. But then I'm also a bit disappointed. In the past I've been able to get a 3.9 just from fasting for 12 hours while lounging around at...

First 36 Hour Fast - Confused

Hi there, my name is Adam James and I am a Type 2 diabetic. I've just done a 36 hour fast. Yesterday I ate nothing and drank water and spent 5 hours walking in the hills. I'm a bit alarmed because I woke up an hour ago and now I'm hungry. Does anyone else find that they get hungry after not...

I Not prepared understand something !!!

I think a lot of people find that certain foods cause that delayed spike, I've seen quite a few mention it on this forum. I've never checked for that myself. I presume it's due to how the food is digested / broken down, for some foods the energy is only released after some time.

I Not prepared understand something !!!

Seems pretty clear to me. A bored scientist rolled various foodstuffs down a hill on a windy day and measured their velocities.
