    Human Regular Insulin

Hi can anybody tell me if regular human insulin (Actrapid) as an example is the same as the stuff humans actually make? I mean molecule wise as I know they do things to it to make the rapid and basal insulins. curious! Thank you

    Thin Blood?

On a long pump break because my infusion sites kept bleeding. Now almost every injection bleeds or leaves a bruise and I've also noticed when I prick my fingers the blood is very watery and hard to form a blob for the meter to suck the blood in, if you know what I mean. Any ideas? wondering if...

I'm having a pump break. I often do this as my skin gets sore from the infusion sets. They itch, go red, get swollen and even 2 week old old sites are still sore. It happens sometimes. Anyway, still on the low carb diet and wondered if anyone on injections can live on just two doses...

Getting low sugar on waking on low carb question.

I'm Type 1 and on a pump. I had my over night basals set right so I'd go to bed around 6 and wake up 5/6mmol. However, since going low carb over the last 5 or so days (just started) my basals are fine in the day but three mornings I have woken up with a 3.0 , 3.2 and today 2.4 and really felt...

On my first pump, the Accu Chek Spirit, it used to say how many days until it needed replacing. This new pump of mine, well, it's a year old Spirit Combo doesn't have this. Does anyone know how long you have to have them until it can be replaced? I am assuming another 5 long years...

    Hungry on low carb?

Do you eventually stop feeling hungry? Should I eat lots of not carb foods at each meal to feel 'fuller'? Actually, I'm not sure if I feel hungry, I don't feel tired like I do on loads of carbs but I feel hollow for want of a better word. I guess takes time for your body to adjust?

    low carb help, please.

Eating less carbs REALLY helps my diabetes. The problem is I never have any motivation to cook and to be honest I never have really cooked. Haven't got lots of money to buy lots of meat and just don't know where to start. I don't like much food either. Does anyone have a meal planner of what...

Target Blood Sugar on Accu Chek Spirit Combo.

Can anyone answer this please? On my Animas pump I would time in one number for my target blood sugar. I had it set for 5.5. On the spirit I can't do this. You have to give a lower number and higher one. Mine are set for 4.0 and 7.0... Does the spirit calculate the average of these two...

    Humulin I

When I was first diagnosed and left the hospital I was sent off with Humalog and Humulin I. I was told to have it at night only and I had to roll it before I injected. Is it still used? How is it different to Levemir? I know I was moved to Levemir in 2004. Wasn't given a reason why. Just...
