    Carbs and Cals app

I don't think I'm being thick but my Carbs and Cal app indicated it required an update today, which I completed. When I went to use it, it froze! I deleted it and then tried to re-install it which resulted in a blank screen. I have been to the website and tried to download from there, blank...

    First Christmas with type 2

I was facing Christmas with a little apprehension but luckily it passed with no problems. I had good food and enjoyed myself - even had a dessert spoonful of Christmas pud with no adverse effect. But today is a different matter and I have yet to work out why! Things were ok until lunchtime...

    Thank you

This seems like a speech from an award ceremony, but I'd just like to thank everyone on the forum who has given support and advice since my diagnosis! Just returned from my review and my HBA1C was 6.4. The doctor was so pleased and commented that I was only the 2nd person in the practise to...

    Different treatments for type 2

Since being diagnosed in May and joining this marvellous site, I have been very interested in the different ways that people have been treated by HCPs since diagnosis in relation to drugs and advice. It seems from reading different posts that there is a wide range of treatments being prescribed...

    Blood test query

I have to arrange a blood test for November. Our surgery does blood tests before 10 as that is when the lab collects! My question is :- my BG never reduces until mid to late morning will this make any difference to the lab results of my HB1AC????

    A change of direction

Since diagnosis in May I did manage to reduce my levels and was given a further 3 months to improve by my doctor (who's a darling and hasn't forced any drugs on me, in fact he has positively encouraged diet and exercise). Despite low carb diet and exercise, my recent readings have not reduced at...

    Housework

The weight has stopped coming off recently so I have devised some strategies for extra exercise - unmethodical housework - accidentally on purpose leave things in the downstairs cupboard and don't be clever and take all you need with you, which means hopping up and downstairs to fetch things...

    Weight plateau

I hope someone will have some ideas to help. I have been low carbing with the help of this forum, since my diagnosis in May. The weight has come off quite easily up until about two weeks ago - in the last two weeks I have lost 1lb :( My carb intake is less than 40g per day and I am vegetarian...

I was out with our daughter today visiting various venues for her wedding reception, when reading through one brochure after our visit, we were in fits over 'coq au van' which was on offer as a main course!

Had my visit to the doctor today 3 months post diagnosis and HBA1c down from 16.6 to 7.7. I thought he was going to put me on drugs but he didn't even suggest it. He was so pleased with what I had done that he said have a another 3 months of what you've been doing and you've cracked it (he...
