Sugar level still rising after two hours

I am getting my H1aBc test done soon but I'm not diabetic as far as I'm aware and hoping this obviously doesn't change. Anyway, I have been testing myself using a glucometer just out of interest for the last week and my levels are all well within the normal levels - waking levels (4-5.2), post...

    Glucometer inaccuracy

I'm a non-diabetic (as far as I know) but wanted to test my levels as I plan to get a HbA1C test soon along with my other bloods so I figured these readings might give me a prediction as to what figure that would be. Anyway I bought this Vivacheck meter here -...

    blood sugar and insomnia

For almost 4 months now I've been experiencing on going night time symptoms where I'll wake up anywhere from 130am - 530am. Around 6am I can fall asleep again for another couple of hours. I've been recording all my waking up times and how I feel. My average waking up time at night is anywhere...

    night time issues

Over the last few months now I've been experiencing on going night time symptoms where I'll wake up anywhere from 130am - 5am with this slight feeling that I needed to pee. Recently though it's become a slight bloated feeling as well. The times I have been to pee during these early mornings I...

SURVEY - how much can you hold?

Just asking how much does your bladder hold until you really get the urge that you need to pee? Mine can be I reckon around 700-800ml as this is the amount I pee when I really have the urge to go. I’m assuming if you had a larger prostate then you would be going more often and urinating less...

    night time symptoms

Why do prostate issues, if you have them, flare up or become more evident when you’re in bed overnight? Is it something to do with being prone/lying down? The last few days now, I've woken up around 2am with a stronger urge to pee, however it's still not strong enough to actually make me go...

    in some shock over this

I'm 34, male and for more than 2 months now I've been experiencing some strange, vague symptoms which are actually hard to describe as there is no pain or anything severe physically. It's like a slight sensation of fullness with a very slight urge to pee which is more prominent at night and...

    IT advice needed

How do you set up a shared calendar on MS Outlook 2016 so that others people can access it and edit it etc. at any time? I need, one main overall calendar that is accessible to around 5/6 people. So far I haven't made any progress. I think the problem may be is that I don't have the public...

    monitor usage

I have tested myself using a previous monitor that my dad used last year (he is type 2) but I'm using his test strips, which are obviously in date. Should I still get an accurate enough reading? I know there's meter variance but I've done separate tests in the space of 2 weeks, almost 2 hours...

    most definite test for diabetes?

I have done two separate recent finger prick blood glucose tests on myself, on the 27th and the other yesterday on the 5th Jan. Both done about 1hour 50 mins after eating. My results were 5.4 and 5.9 which I see is in the normal range for a non diabetic. However I know that the most...

    Occasional urge to urinate

I'm having bouts where I'll need to go pee more often. What's strange though is that this is intermittent. So I'll have three or more days maybe where I'm totally fine, normal urination, no urge etc. then suddenly the next day I'll have this bout where I'll go a few times in succession, like...

    caffeine and urination habits

They say that drinking coffee and tea can cause increased urine production, is there a way to actually measure this? Like say you drank 2 litres of tea would you void exactly 2 litres or more at some point? Would you total urine output for the day be increased? I'm having some slight increased...

    urinalysis and detection

I know an urinalysis cannot be used to properly diagnose diabetes however, these pee stick tests do detect levels of glucose and ketones in the urine sample. Say you did have high blood sugar which was uncontrolled would some levels of glucose and ketones be detected in a sample? Also I know...

    delayed urination?

Is it possible for one to have delayed bouts of urination? As in on occasion, you may pee a few times in an hour or so, even though you haven't drunk that much water in that specific time period? Could it be that an intake of coffee or tea earlier in the day could have an affect on urine...

Nocturia - how many is too many?

With nocturia in people who have uncontrolled blood sugars, how many times does one tend to go? And is it more to do with the amount of urine produced, rather than the number of times?

    Not sure what this is

I'm 34, male, 6ft2, healthy weight etc. and no known conditions, i.e.non diabetic. I am taking mirtazipine for the last 2 months. I have a close direct relative, father, who has diabetes type 2 (diagnosed in mid 50s). The last 2 weeks or so I've woken up in the early morning (range from 230am -...

    Meter variance

I hear there's approximately a +-15% variation with bg readings. So for example if you got a reading of 7.0 would that still be acceptable for a non diabetic post prandial, WITH taking meter variance into account?
