I used to donate blood regularly. I was diagnosed T1 4 years ago and as soon as I started taking insulin they said I could no longer donate in case of going hypo. They did say if I was on tablets rather than insulin they could still take it. Shame really. I keep good control of my glucose levels...

Occasional fasting has been working well for me. However, back on the 'trial and error' learning curve to balance things out having just changed from using Lantus to using Tresiba. About three weeks in and almost stabilised again....well as stabilised as you can be :rolleyes::happy:

I was given a Novarapid Echo pen for the very reason that is works on half units. I was told it is normally given to children or people who are quite sensitive to insulin (i am the latter!)
