    Right time to inject lantus?

Hi all, I take lantus every evening at 10pm and I'm asleep at 10:30pm - I've seen that people take it earlier than that. I was wondering if it's benefit me taking it at 9pm rather than 10pm because DAFNE reckoned my lantus was running out in the evening and making my levels rise?

Sudden huge jump in insulin requirement

I've been on antihistamines before I was diabetic and since (I have severe hives) and I've never had continuous high blood sugars as a result. However, perhaps your levels are higher because your body is combating the allergy? If you are waking up high then your basal is likely needing to be...

    Having problems

Hi all - levels slowly coming down by increasing my lantus and giving more insulin to overcome the illnesses. I went to the doctors and got a stronger dose to prevent the hives but I may have to go back and get a stronger dose as one tablet isn't doing enough!

    Having problems

Hi all I went on the DAFNE course and they changed me to levemir but I didn't like this as it made my levels go high and my clinic thought it was wrong for me to change too. So now I'm back on lantus and still having high readings even though I don't feel like they are high. Sometimes I think...

    Thyroid and type1

I feel the same - I was diagnosed with under active thyroid at 8 (?!? So young!) and then at 15 I was diagnosed with diabetes. I'm 18 now and my dad read that this link can often happen as our immune systems are weaker, although it is a harsh reality it is what happens.

I am not doing well enough

I'm not sure if coffee just affects a Type 1 diabetic like me but I always have to give an extra unit or two when having coffee because it increases my levels - and I know others on the site have experienced the same. So it could be that?
