I'm day 3 into this diet. Will keep you posted on how it goes! I've just done my bloods and was disappointed to see 8.2. I had had a coffee with sweeteners and some sugar free gum so I'm hoping that was why? Considering I haven't eaten since 7 last night and only drunk water I was hoping for...

    Help with levels please!

I've been bad at doing them lately but here are my readings today. 8.1 fasting/pre breakfast 2 slices of Burgen soya/linseed toast. One with peanut butter, the other with flora and marmite. 10.3 2 hours after. This isn't a huge rise is it? So would be ok to have?

Which complication do you fear most?

All of them I guess but the worst for me (apart from death) would be blindness. I'd hate to not see what was going on around me, seeing my kids and future grandkids. Seeing the world etc.

Sorry yes have amended the recipe for the flour. Will add some more :) It really was nice, the cottage cheese put me off a bit but it was nice. Thanks for the opinions, I will try with almond flour too.

Tasty Vegetable Pie - Opinions Please

This is a recipe from a diabetic cookbook but it seems a bit strange to have tomato sauce in it being that can be high in sugar. Base Soak bran in milk for 5 mins, mix flour and marg then add bran mixture to make a pastry. Roll out to line a pie dish. 1/2 cup All Bran 1/4 cup skimmed milk 2...

Thanks Claire! My 2 hour one was 9.1 so a little high. Would that be something to avoid? I'm stuck for ideas for breakfast :?

    Help with levels please!

Catherine they haven't said I should test I'm doing this off my own back as it seems the best way to learn what's what. Should I go back and ask? Do I not take an hourly blood then and just wait for the 2 hours? My hourly blood after some porridge is 10.5. I haven't done a fasting one because...

    Help with levels please!

So I'm taking my bloods an hour after eating and 2 hours. What am I aiming for in terms of a good level? Is it about 5? What would constitute a high reading? Does the hourly reading mean much? Thanks!

    Food Reactions

Well yesterday I had 2 cookies and an ice lolly late at night plus some vodka and pretty much ate rubbish (bad day!) My waking blood was 9.2. I had 2 slices of wholemeal toast and beans for brekkie. Within 30 mins I felt tired and my 1 hr blood was 13.0 my 2 hour was 8.6. I ended up having a...

    Food Reactions

Do you notice any change if you eat something 'naughty'? I seem to have a strong reaction and feel groggy and extremely tired if I do. I'm glad in a way because nothing is worth this feeling, so wont be tempted again!

Which is understandable but, as a forum owner myself, deleting posts can completely mess up a thread, useful info can be lost etc. I do see your point about unanswered posts though.
