Are you also on a long acting insulin? I had highs before bed when I was on a single dose of levemir (long acting) because it wasnt lasting the full day. It cleared up when I switched to two doses 12/hrs apart

    Omnipod placement

Hey Everyone! I started on omnipod about 2 weeks ago. I just put a pod on my leg for the first time and I find that I have been really high since. I have been running a temp basil of +15% just to keep it down . I heard that absorption on the hips/buttock can be not as good requiring more...

No T-slims I don't think in my area. Thanks for the pricing info! I'm just worried about hidden fees and such. My nurse told me it can cost up to $700 to replace the dexcom

    Dexcom vs Libre

Hey everyone. I am looking at getting a pump and I was leaning towards the animas vibe as it has the dexcom compatibility. The other option is omnipod and wait for the Libra to come to Canada (should be in a couple of months) So I was wonder in terms of cgm sensor costs and comfort, which...

    HELP! Teenager & alcohol

Hey there! This is all going to be a bit scary at first and a learning experience for both of you! I was diagnosed at 19 and had to learn how to handle alcohol all over again. One thing that helped myself and my parents feel at ease is that we told my best friend exactly what a hypo looks...

    Anyone with diabetic neuropathy ?

Hello! Sorry to hear that you are experiencing so much pain! As far as I know and have read, you have many many years before neuropathy should be an issue. Type 1 typically does not go undiagnosed for long enough to have complications so early. Type 2 can typically go long periods of time...

    Switching to a pump?

Hey Everyone, I am thinking of switching to a pump. I was on a pump when I was first diagnosed in 2006 and I had a bad experience. I didn't have the discipline yet to control my diabetes properly so the freedom of the pump caused me to get into some really bad habits. I put on a ton of weight...

    Physically and mentally drained!

I get that way too... there are so many times when I feel like diabetes is stopping me from doing what I want to do and I am so resentful about it. I even had my Dr. tell me what I should find a new career path that is more suitable to a diabetic lifestyle... I was so angry. What has helped...

    Injecting into leg

I have had this issue too with my short acting insulin in my leg. I dont know if it because the depth the needle needs to go in might be different because of more muscle mass??? Insulin leakage

I have heard that Lantus is more painful (like stinging?) I have never been on it myself, but I have heard others say that the injections can be painful. If the lantus injections are not absorbing correctly in your legs, I wouldnt fret too much and just use other sites. Use your legs for...
