    Savoury low carb meal replacement

I can only cook when my back isn't too bad which usually means about once a month unfortunately... that is when talking about cooking biscuits or the like but I do try to cook a proper meal most days.. such as fish and veg which I put in a steamer.

    Savoury low carb meal replacement

Good idea but I have to take tablets first thing in the morning and I have to eat something before I can take them .. that's why I need something quick and easy. I resort to a couple of digestive biscuits but at 9 carbs per biscuit that's a big chunk of my daily allowance!

    Savoury low carb meal replacement

I want a meal replacement type biscuit that I can have for my breakfast but it has to be low carb and a savoury one or just plain. So many of these biscuits are sickly sweet and whilst ordinarily I am partial to them I don't like them first thing in the morning! Reason being is that I have a...

    made big changes

Well done for the changes to a healthier diet and lifestyle Jess. Just a word about the sweeteners as they can have some side effects such as dizziness and/or stomach problems. Hope you don't get any but thought it was worth mentioning.

still hungry on low carb diet

I was about to refer you to MFP as it's a site that I have been using for a long time now and it's very helpful. Once you put your food on there you will be surprised at how many carbohydrates you are consuming. Like any forum it will take a little while to get used to it but if you persevere...

Such a thing as low carb bread or snack bars?

I have just bought a Burgens loaf of bread which is really good and tasty. The slices are quite a bit thicker than most breads but being lower in carbs I've been able to incorporate it into my diet very well. There is one thing I am meticulous about and that is I always weigh each slice all the...

    I wonder why it is

If you get gout my friend .. you will certainly know what it is without having to be told! I had it and the old pictures of someone with a big red toe and being very vocal if it was being knocked is very much what it is like. In fact even trying to put a sock or anything on my foot was near to...

    New Year Resolutions!

To keep to my diet and lose more weight .. which will enable me to get around much better. To find more social occasions and not be stuck indoors so much.. and try not to keep thinking about the past and how I have failed in being a mother and friend!

    Type 2 Hey

Like Inchindown I wasn't surprised either especially seeing that I have always been a proper choc-a-holic! I have been overweight for most of my life and had lots of other things to contend with so one more didn't make much difference anyway  and just another hill to climb. I was 226lbs...

    Type 1 80mg statins

Wild horses wouldn't get me to take statins! Every so often my doctor will bring up the subject but he knows only too well that I am completely against them. There has never been any trials done and shown regarding statins and there was a very informative TV program about this a few years back...

    Glucose Reading Going UP!

I can go for ages without eating any chocolate at all but when I get a disappointment I immediately want a bit and then I'm off! bingeing isn't the word for it I'm afraid! I've been ever so good over the Christmas period and haven't even eaten lots of food per se.. so I've amazed myself tbh...

    New Year Resolutions!

I have resolved to get my weight down to 154lbs this year .. I've been dieting since 2010 when I was 226lbs and could hardly walk without a great deal of pain and hardly breath as well! I got down to 188lbs in August 2015 but have now put on about a stone and the back is getting very painful...

    Symptoms of type 2?

I didn't have any symptoms either as far as I can remember .. in fact I was more than a little surprised when I was told although I am and always have been border line so I've never had to take any meds at all. I've always been chubby and when I got to about 50 I was diagnosed with an under...

    Glucose Reading Going UP!

Thankyou.. I did fry with the olive oil as tbh I think butter seems a bit sickly .. maybe it's an acquired taste. I bake my bacon .. grilling makes so much mess. Love the idea of boiling it .. def will be trying that!

    Glucose Reading Going UP!

Thanks for the replies .. I know I should keep clear of the chocolate but anyone who has suffered with depression knows just how difficult it is to keep them at bay so it's between the devil and the deep blue sea.. as they say! Glad you mentioned the cream Bluetit.. I'm presuming that a fry-up...
