Looking a recommendation for a new meter

Back again kids. Realised I had this old thread, no point making a new one! Currently using a Verio IQ meter. Been told the strips for this are being discontinued. Any suggestions on a new meter? I've got my clinic appointment at the hospital next week & I'll be enquiring about a Libre as a...

One Touch Comfort discontinuation - recommend me a lancing device.

As the title suggests, the One Touch lancet discontinuation has hit me finally. Onto my last box, had the device for years, was the best one for me by far. Pigeon-holed onto the Delica device, which is sore, even on 1, the Comfort was always kept on 1 for me & worked grand. Had looked into the...

Folks, has anyones GP changed their meter/strips & lancets without informing them?

It's the way it has been conducted. If I was given the option I may have considered it. This way, no!

Folks, has anyones GP changed their meter/strips & lancets without informing them?

As the above question states, I received a letter from my GP stating that I am being changed (I've my checked my prescription via Patient Access and it's all changed!) from my Verio IQ meter to a Select Plus meter. Not a happy bunny regarding this, I've to come in & be given my new stuff. Would...

A 2 week dose of Ciprofloxacin. Couple of samples off for more in depth tests. Interesting leaflet with those tablets too!

Type 1 UTI - Is it possible to have one without all the standard symptoms?

Thanks for the reply Lesley. It's good to know that someone knows what I'm on about, I must have described it well [emoji1] Off to the GP's later, so I'll see what happens

Type 1 UTI - Is it possible to have one without all the standard symptoms?

Morning folks, I'm back to tap the collective knowledge of the forum. This is a tricky one for me. I've been to my GP's in the past with something that I'd describe as phantom UTI. Been told it could be in my head! The symptoms I'm having are a general discomfort in that area, I was woken up...

How do you go about adding a new meter & strips to your prescription?

Cheers guys, I think I'll give my DSN a ring, and see what they recommend.

How do you go about adding a new meter & strips to your prescription?

As above people, I haven't changed my prescription for about 4/5 years and my meter is a little bit done out. I remember there being some code that the GP could check on the system, and see if they were able to prescribe it? Has this way changed? Ta, Alan.

Looking a recommendation for a new meter

They are indeed, the USB I use is PC compatible which is handy. As for the carb counting ones if assume they are ones you enter your offset and it calculates how much you require. I may be describing them wrong lol. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Looking a recommendation for a new meter

I've been out of the 'game' for a few years now. Latest meter I got was the Contour USB. It's a bit of a 1st world problem I know but I'm looking some information on these carb counting meters? I was discussing them with a fellow diabetic and she said how good they were. Any suggestions...

How did you react when you were first diagnosed?

I got diagnosed on Friday the 13th a few years back, talk about a sign lol. After I left the GP's I got a bit teary eyed, but ever since I've just got on with it. There is nothing we can do about a T1 dianosis, sure it's not a nice thing to be put through, but I'm so thankful I was diagnosed...

    Injections at work?

Personally I inject in a disabled toilet in work, personal preference but I do my testing at my desk with no queries. If there was they'd be told where to go! Don't let it affect you Commotion.
