What question would annoy you the most?

Not a question, but restaurants that don't provide nutritional information about their menus irk me.

What question would annoy you the most?

Being told I'm "not a proper diabetic", because I don't inject insulin or take other medication!! when I say no to the roast potatoes, rice, pasta, cake etc.

Why is the Low Carb programme No Longer Free?

I have been a supporter of the LCP for over two years, it has given me the impetus and the knowledge to lose 3 stone and bring my type 2 under some form of control. If it had not been free when I joined, then I would not be as healthy and fit as I am today. I have just tried to sign up using a...

    Type 2 Meter Accuracy issue

Thanks @GrantGam and @Bluetit1802, Basically, I was happy with the old meter but maybe the lure of the prescription strips was too strong to ignore. I just have to get used to a different trend from the new meter.

    Type 2 Meter Accuracy issue

Up until my last FBG check I was using a Contour Next USB meter, which gave consistent results, but the strips cost an arm and a leg. At my last checkup the DSN said that they were now able to give meters and strips on prescription, but the only meter they could give is the Agamatrix Wavesense...

    Management Apps

I've used an Excel app that I have put together. I have found phone apps to cumbersome. I can add all my readings in one place rather than paging through an app. I tried several apps from the Apple Store but couldn't get on with any of them.

    LOW CARB SUCCESS STORIES

Thanks @Brunneria, I have been an ardent supporter of the LCP since I joined up. I was one of the case studies in the Times article last year. It works and I, like so many, am the proof.

    LOW CARB SUCCESS STORIES

It has been 12 months since I completed the Low Carb Program. One thing I do know, is that I am eternally grateful to Diabetes.co.uk and the Program. If I hadn’t made the effort to follow it and keep it up afterwards I dread to think what life would be like now. I know my story is nothing...

    Saturated Fat

I have been around a while, having been diagnosed with T2 in 2009. I have good control of my diabetes through diet and exercise, thanks to this forum and the fantastic Low Carb Program which was a life saver for me. I have a good understanding of what carbs to avoid and generally how my diet...

8-week bs diet Recipe book - any thoughts?

I can't fast - on annual check up days I could eat a rabid dog by the time I get out. I found that by following the Low Carb Program on this site, which I think is brilliant, I was able to bring both the weight (20kg loss) and blood sugars down to non-diabetic levels of generally 4-5.5 within 6...

8-week bs diet Recipe book - any thoughts?

I guess it could be called a recipe companion to Michael Mosely's diet book, by his wife Dr. Clare Bailey. As @bulkbiker says, you have to be selective as it does emphasise the calories, but there are a lot of tasty looking meals using alternatives to the stodge that the NHS pushes us to eat.

8-week bs diet Recipe book - any thoughts?

I have recently bought the 8-week blood sugar diet recipe book by Dr Clare Bailey, based on Mediterranean lifestyle principles.. Whilst the 8 weeks on 800 cals isn't for me, there are some inspiring and imaginative recipes that prove low carb doesn't have to be boring. I think this may be a...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Instead of the Green Post reply at the bottom of the screen, use the reply option at the end of the specific post to avoid confusion, then everyone will know who you are responding to.

I don't eat potatoes, or rice or pasta either..

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Yes, I realise I shouldn't complain, but after a run of less than 5 it feels like a smack on the back of the head especially after relatively low carbs yesterday. :angelic:
