Yes I’ll get a dexcom sensor with the t:slim. That was my nurse’s suggestion as well to be fair.

LIBRE IS STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS

My understanding is this happens when blood sugars are dropping or rising very fast. It’s frustrating but I’d still have a sensor over constant fingers pricks. Maybe the libre 3 will be better with this, the tech is improving all the time.

Diagnosed As Type 2, Now I'm Type 1...

I was exactly the same, incorrectly diagnosed type 2 in my 30s and re-diagnosed type 1 LADA after 10 years. This forum is really helpful, I posted for help a few times, sometimes just to hear from other diabetics. Although be prepared to be told you’re not type 1 as you can’t change types. I...

    Choice of pumps

I’m on the pump waiting list and had my first meeting with the pump nurse today. After discussing my options I need to decide between Medtronic 780g and tandem t:slim x2. I’m leaning towards the t:slim and wondered if those who use either of these pumps could offer advice.

I was diagnosed Lada 5 years ago and they kept me on my metformin as they said it helps with insulin absorption.

No medication changes. For my diabetes I’m on Levemir, humalog and metformin. I take other medication for migraines but I’ve been on it for a long time.

    Possible neuropathy

Diagnosed LADA last year after 10 years as T2. For the last 2-3 weeks I’ve been experiencing terrible pains in my feet and hands. It started off as pins and needles but it’s getting worse. Hba1c is normal and DNS doesn’t think it’s neuropathy so I went to GP who then told me she does think its...

    Good gravy!

Heavy cream as far as I’m aware is double cream. Any American recipe I’ve ever made where heavy cream is required I’ve used double cream and it’s been fine. Although I think single cream would be fine for this as well. It’s sounds fab, thanks.

How do you get on with Lantus?

Newly started on insulin in September last year. Basal was 14 units of lantus. It wasn't lasting 24 hours though and I was told that lantus wasn't suitable for splitting so they put me onto Levemir. 7 units morning and night. Seems to be working better than the lantus.

    Fed up with cancelled appointments

When you receive these letters phone and ask if there are any earlier cancellations. Normally what happens is a whole clinic date is cancelled and rescheduled but if you call there might be one or two appointments available before the rescheduled clinic date. Also contact your consultant or...

When Type 2 turns to Type 1 Diabetes

Hi @guylan. I was diagnosed type 2 nearly 10 years ago. However after 18 months of extremely high blood sugars my consultant checked my GAD antibodies and I've been rediagnosed as type 1 so the delayed onset can be quite long as I was well controlled up until this point. That being said, there...

Difference between type 1 and 1.5

I'm another recent 1.5 diagnosis after been diagnosed as type 2 initially. After a horrible year of increased metformin and gliclazide, victoza injections, numerous visits to out of hours and a hospital stay I was finally started on insulin. My sugar levels were rarely in single figures during...

    Newly Diagnosed with Type 1

@Addy41 I've actually been on insulin since October although only been rediagnosed as type 1 since last week. I've found Bertie to be very helpful. Module 1 is a guide to diabetes I'm just about to start module 2 which is all about carb counting and module 3 is managing your diabetes. I so far...
