    What can i drink

Red wine reduces my blood sugar levels and does not seem to hinder my gradual weight loss. One really has to keep testing because we all seem to react differently. It also has a good effect on my fasting level readings if I have consumed red wine the night before.

Cramp in legs after LCHF diet ?

Thanks to info on this forum I have been following LCHF diet for 8 months. I have lost 10kg and reduced my HbA1c so I am very grateful that I found this site. I feel really great but have regularly been getting cramps in my calves and feet after waking in the morning. Can this be diet related ...

    Snacking

Hi there, really good question and I can only speak from personal experience. Bananas and apples both spike me so I don't touch them anymore. I do graze on almonds between meals but when I feel woozy I find that some blueberries with Greek yogurt takes that away and is really tasty. Bit...

    Moving To France

Hi, I live in France permanently, but I am of state pension age. There are various sites including Angloinfo that give full details of healthcare here but basically you get into the French Healthcare system and then you should get what is called a Mutuelle which is a top-up health insurance...

disturbing trends in blood glucose levels within the day

Hi and welcome, we are about the same age, weight etc and I try to do as much exercise as you do but sometimes don't achieve it! It is definitely the carb intake that spikes my levels so as others have said you will need to find out what spikes you as an individual. Porridge doesn't suit me so...

8 WEEK BLOOD SUGAR DIET AND IT WAS ALL GOING SO WELL HELP!

Got to sympathise @mallins looks like you are going to find it difficult to find a straight 8 weeks where you can stick to that diet. What about trying the 5:2 version, might be more doable in your situation? You might also have a look at the LCHF which may (or may not!) suit you better. We do...

    Always glucose intolerant ?

thanks @ brunneria haven't lost that much yet having just started! My HbA came down when I increased activity so Dr reduced meds. That gave me incentive to continue and try and get off them. Just wondered if anyone had taken glucose tolerance test and found that they were now in the normal range

    Always glucose intolerant ?

I am type 2 (ten years) and take 500 mg metformin X 2 per day, recently reduced from 3 after HbA of 5.7 I am trying through diet and exercise to get to a position when I can come off meds altogether, something that many of you have achieved. My question is whether one is still glucose intolerant...

    Off the rails

@ally1 Your progress over the past two years is so good and an example to people like me who have just started on the road to getting control. We all suffer temporary setbacks so as a newbie I ask that you get back to your determined self and inspire others. Your post shows that you want to -...

    Apps

Yes, using mfp app and I find it really useful to monitor daily intake of my diet. I am also using its programme to target weight loss over a five week period and it is working for me so I would definitely recommend it
