Type 1 and adjustments at work

Hi all! I'll be starting a new job soon (in a library) and am expecting a call from occupational health later today to talk about any adjustments I might need. Does anymore have any advice about what I should ask for? Obviously being able to check my sugars / inject when I need Thank you!

    Bleeding after injection

Good morning! After doing my breakfast injection in my stomach this morning there was quite a big blob of blood (maybe I pinched too hard?) and now there's a little bruise. Sometimes I do get little specks but I've never had anything like that before. Maybe a silly question, but I'm worried...

So ill/ frustrated/ don't know what to do

Not silly at all! It did cross my mind as I had been living in Vietnam six months before getting ill. It took a VERY long time, but I was diagnosed with autonomic neuropathy and peripheral sensory neuropathy with severe gastroparesis being what was stopping me eating. More than likely caused by...

So ill/ frustrated/ don't know what to do

Sorry I haven't been back to update! Its been another couple of weeks of going back and forth from the GP with health really deteriorating and ended up in A&E on Sunday -I was very dehydrated and my heart rate was at 143! Lot's of fluids pumped into me & anti-sickness prescribed which has made...

So ill/ frustrated/ don't know what to do

@ewlina Yes they've given me HuxD3- I've got to take two weekly for 8 weeks. I wonder if it is that! The Dr seemed to say that the Vit D shouldn't be making me feel so bad... but they have given my a high does - the standard instructions are to take one capsule every two weeks

So ill/ frustrated/ don't know what to do

Since November I've gotten very tight control over my type 1 diabetes (it was terrible before). But since before christmas I've been feeling pretty bad and it seems to be getting worse and worse. I have zero appetite (its gradually been getting worse), I've lost over a stone in three weeks...

    Type 1: HbA1c

Do you know more about this? I've recently got control back after going off the rails for a couple of years, my Dr said its the fastest drop in Hba1c she's ever seen (it was really bad before). I've been feeling terrible since! No appetite (I really have to force myself to et anything at all)...

    Alternative injection sites?

@GrantGam It seem's to have been fine and bump disappeared fairly quickly! I had actually dropped to 3.8 on waking up at 7 and have been as normal so far today :)

    Alternative injection sites?

Help! I just injected my basal, and even though I try to rotate, it was quite painful this evening and I noticed a lump when I took the pen out. Does this mean the insulin won't absorb well??

    Help in dealing with neuropathy

Hello! I've been suffering with neuropathy in my feet for a few weeks now, what I'm really confused about is that its only started as I've gotten tight control over my sugars. The last couple of months its been very rare for my sugars to go over 9, and there generally always below 6.5 (but this...

    What's your daily routine?

I'm not new to diabetes, but I'm relatively new to controlling my condition. After struggling with burnout for a couple of years I finally seem to be getting back on track. After studying and then working shifts that were at different times everyday, I haven't had a daily schedule for a long...

    Insulin injections

I only really inject into my tummy as legs are always painful! I hadn't considered my bottom before, but I'm starting to need more rotation - just curios - I've picked up that people only seem to inject basal into their bottom -is there a reason not to do bolos or is it more of a practicality...

    Basal testing/dawn phenomenon

Are there recommendations for catching/ stopping DP? Would I have to wake myself up every couple of hours to test? I'm getting so tired of waking up and feeling awful! I went to bed at 5.3 last night and woke up at 18.0 this morning ! :<
