    Dexcom At School

Thanks @Whirl2 , sounds like you have a good plan in place and your daughter is becoming quite independent with all the alarms and such. We once bought that same watch but it did not last too long unfortunately!! What we have done with the Dexcom is to have her keep the receiver in her pocket...

    Dexcom At School

Looking for people with experience of using a Dexcom G5 or G6 at school. For the past 2 years we have been using Libre and it has gone pretty well. The Libre Reader stays with my daughters TA at all times and she can get a reading on demand in a 'flash'. Now that we have moved to using the...

    Honeymoon and hypoglycemia

Wow...very interested in this. My daugther was diagnosed almost 2 years ago aged 5. In that time, I think we have only ever had one meal without an insulin shot. Stopping both long and fast acting for more than a month sounds like heaven but also very unusual and hopefully they can work out...

    Dexcom G6

Awesome...great to hear such positive feedback. Can't wait to start...even though we are delayed as had to stick on another Libre whilst on family holiday. Oh well, 2 more weeks.

    Blucon Nightrider for Libre

Hi @Jo1407, glad to see it has finally arrived. I am using Android. I think it is easier to setup on Android but I have not tried with iPhone. Xdrip and LinkBlucon cannot co-exist on the same phone to scan the NightRider. I would recommend that you go with Xdrip and uninstall the Blucon App...

    Blucon Nightrider for Libre

Yeeessss!! I'm connected again. As we only use at night time, looks like I have to restart my phone and then turn bluetooth off and on a few times for it to re-connect. Will see if there is a pattern but at the moment it looks quite random.

    Blucon Nightrider for Libre

Thanks as always @Scott-C. Have killed LinkBluCon App from my phone. I actually only installed it this evening to troubleshoot the issue. XDrip+ also came up with a message asking me to delete it...pretty smart!! Right now, Xdrip+ is connected to the Blucon and bonded. So will try it all...

    Blucon Nightrider for Libre

Mine came in exactly 2 weeks (last Friday to be precise), which was a pleasant surprise. I think I ordered shortly after you @Jo1407 so it cant be long now. I did get an email from USPS with a nice tracking link which showed me the full progress of the delivery. That was more than I was...

    Blucon Nightrider for Libre

Awesome!! Thanks so much for the replies they have been very helpful. It does look quite chunky from the photo and might take some persuading for her to accept it to sleep with (she moves around a hell of a lot at night!!). @db89 thanks...I'll check out the product you ordered from Germany...

    Blucon Nightrider for Libre

Hi All, Have been researching the Blucon Nightrider for the Libre and have a few questions about it's practicality. Wanted to get some real life answers from anyone who has experience in using it. We want to use it at night time only, to remotely monitor my 6 year old Daughers levels from the...

    Pump start day advice

Hey @Worriedmum26, you have great timing as we've just started on Medtronic 640g this morning with my 6yo Daughter. It's a lot to take in and a complete regime change. School tomorrow as well!! Make sure you get the pouch for start day. My daughter loves hers and is not fussed at all wearing...

Hello and could do with some advice please

Hi Rach85, I have a 6 year old girl T1 as well but diagnosed July 2016. Its the Levemir that will need to be reduced here. Looks like she is having far too much. It should only go up/down by 1.7 mmol whilst fasting (i.e. overnight). This might also be contributing to the post breakfast drop...

    Fitting in

It will fit in....all the new tech and tools available will make this a lot nicer to manage. Look ahead 10 years and imagine what could be out there when your child is reaching adulthood.

    Fitting in

Really sorry to hear that...sucks. Have not had any bullying yet as she's only 6 so probably a bit early for that. I have told her that God has chosen you to have Type 1 because you are stronger than all the others. She seems to like that so we've run with it.

Medtronic 640g - Tips and Tricks

Thank you @Juicyj. I like the idea of a short cannula. Looking around at the moment for a pump belt but can't seem to find one with a waist size below 22 inches. Hers is 20 inches. Will keep looking. Bit nervous about it all to be honest but we'll get there. Thanks for the support.

Medtronic 640g - Tips and Tricks

Hi All, my daughter has an appointment next Friday for a Saline trial of Medtronic 640g (I'm unsure if this also includes the Enlite Sensor as well). Anyways, she is an active 6 year old so was just wondering what sort of tips people have with this pump? I'm looking for experience of playing...

    A month as a parent of a T1D kid

Nice write up @justadad. I did read it all! Echo the comments on food and diet above. My daughter has around 150g - 180g carbs per day..sometimes more. Last weeks HBA1c was 42 (down from 48, 3 months back) so its working out ok. Sure there are huge spikes at times but it all comes back down...
