    Interesting test I've done. White bread when used in a sandwich, raises my bg by a large amount. However, if I have fried bread my bg only raises a small amount. Any thoughts on this?

    I'm t2. And I also have sleep apnoea... used to be the thinnest person who attended the sleep clinic. both mine are an amalgamation of being on a life support machine which ******** my tharynx, and bruising to my pancreas from an rta. :)

    About metformin

    Hi there Teresa77, I couldn't tolerate metformin in any format. It doesn't suite everyone. If it doesn't settle within a week or so, I would speak to your doctor. I am now on Linagliptin 5mg and it suites me much better. I hope you find a resolution.

    What do you miss most from being diabetic

    I was thinking about this last night. The first things that came into my mind were actually bread and biscuits. Then I thought, blimey I haven't actually missed having chocolate!

    Is slow release Metformin easier to tolerate than standard?

    Yes, I take Linagliptin 5mg per day as I had a bad reaction to Metformin (which was my docs first line med) ... it seems to be helping me bring down my bg levels (along with diet changes) ... the diabetic Nurse is more than happy with my progress in terms of numbers but I just wish I would start...
